The first song from 'Come & Get It' was 'Negotiate With Love', which only made number ten and we gasped, we really did! ...on in from the rain, come I'll warm you again, je m'apelle Rachel, I'll await, come baby right this way, I only live what you say, and I say je m'apelle Rachel, fire away". This song has wicked electro strobes and also a dirty brilliant guitar rift. It's a very dirty sexy song; I just can't see McManus doing it justice. This song is another brilliant slice of pop. 5/5
Another favourite for me is the highly Kylie-esque 'Funny How' ... ...three take these fools away from me'. Love it. This should be a single I reckon, a double a-side with 'Nothing Good About This Goodbye' yes it is a Kylie like song, but she's poorly and Rachel mimics the sound well. I love, love this tune, Girls Aloud should have done this. 6/5

Rachel Stevens was one 7th of S Club 7, then a sixth of S Club. Since they split bar Jo's (sadly mediocre debut) it's only been Rachel who has released music. Her debut single 'Sweet Dreams My LA Ex' was a real hit along with 'Some Girls' and 'More, More, More', the album and same named single 'Funky Dory' didn't fair so well. Since then 'Negotiate With Love', the awesome 'So Good' and glam 'I Said Never Again' have touched the top ten but not been the hits they deserve. At Popsalvage.com we said this was the 'pop' album of the year and here is why…
I love, love, love the opener 'So Good' this song was destined to be an number one and I was sickened that it didn't top the chart and instead made it to a measly ten which frankly wasn't good enough. I have listened to this song endlessly and it hasn't bored or annoyed me once - the sign or a proper hit. "I've made it on my own again, I'll get back on my feet again, I know I'm gonna feel so good, and so good and so good." This song just cheers me up every time I hear it. It's dark pop that Kylie could do with doing a bit of… when she is better. 7/5
It goes glam pop with third single 'I Said Never Again (But Here We Are)' robbed of a top ten let alone a number one. This does have a Goldfrapp feel to it, it's the glam rockiness and the additional guitars we don't expect in a Rachel Stevens song. "1, 2, 3, 4, you're the on who's creeping, rough love so deceiving, I said never again but here we are". This song should have been massive. It's a dirty sex-with-your-ex anthem that includes the line 'I even let you in my back door' oo-er! 6/5
'Crazy Boys' will probably never see the day as a single, which is a real shame. This has a slight glam feel like 'I Said Never Again' but also a more futuristic feel in the chorus very electro like 'Some Girls'. "For you I'd wait forever, nobody does it better, oooh, crazy boys, this new love I've discovered, from kisses like no other, oooh ooohhh, crazy boys". It's like 'Some Girls' naughtier sexier sister. 5/5
Very 80's take off in a space ship is how I would describe the opener of 'I Will Be There'. "Is it ok if I meet you in heaven, is it alright, if I'm with you forever, I will be there, there forever, I will be there, and I hope you'll be there too." The closest thing to a ballad on the album, 'I Will Be There' is a sparse, emotive, simple piece of electro. 3.5/5
The first song from 'Come & Get It' was 'Negotiate With Love', which only made number ten and we gasped, we really did! "The case is closed I don't negotiate with love, you made your choice I wont negotiate with love, what is it you don't understand, respect is all that I demand, you took my heart you held my hand, so listen up and understand" I guess Rachel doesn't negotiate with love then! This I think is her weakest single BUT I love ALL her singles. It had her vocals (she still mimed) tested slightly and the talky bits 'excuse me could you turn the track down a little please' do seem a bit try to hard but I like. 5/5
I'm not mad on 'All About Me' its really wishy-washy and doesn't seem to go anywhere. Her vocals are really good on this but it's a shame as the song makes it seem a bit more rubbish. 3/5
Now I like 'Secret Garden' a lot, and originally I didn't. It's really unusual with her vocals at some of her hest and its very speedy singing, which isn't an easy feat. "Lets get carried away lost in the dark, I put the stars like the top, somewhere in this foolish sky, it seems like a thousand eyes, so baby lets run and hide, find our own paradise, a secret garden." I think those are the lyrics it's very fast. This song shows real growth and is exceptionally catchy. 5/5
Easily my favourite song on the album is 'Nothing Good About This Goodbye'. Now this IS a ballad but it's very dark as its so electro euro-disco. "Only now I've let go honey I just don't know, sit right here and watch the sky above for a sign, tell me will you miss me, when I'm in your history, baby there isn't nothing good about this goodbye." The album version isn't as good as the promo but its still blinding. It's simplistic pop of old era's which is what I like, verse chorus, verse pattern all about loosing love. Was originally by Alexis Strum watch out for her this year. 7/5
Now I will have a little rant here at Rachel's record label. Who re-released 'Funky Dory' with 'Some Girls' and then add it to 'Come & Get It' as well when it's now like 2 years old! I mean 'Some Girls ' is a great pop tune. I mean considering the album was going to be called 'Crazy Boys & Some Girls' its clever but after the album was named from the lyric in 'So Good' it seems a bit pointless. Anyway the song is good, rant over. 5/5
Now could you believe it but 'Je M'Apelle' was originally written for Michelle McManus, they just changed Michelle to Rachel in the lyrics. "Come on in from the rain, come I'll warm you again, je m'apelle Rachel, I'll await, come baby right this way, I only live what you say, and I say je m'apelle Rachel, fire away". This song has wicked electro strobes and also a dirty brilliant guitar rift. It's a very dirty sexy song; I just can't see McManus doing it justice. This song is another brilliant slice of pop. 5/5
Another favourite for me is the highly Kylie-esque 'Funny How' which has the superb lyric 'night got cold its almost three take these fools away from me'. Love it. This should be a single I reckon, a double a-side with 'Nothing Good About This Goodbye' yes it is a Kylie like song, but she's poorly and Rachel mimics the sound well. I love, love this tune, Girls Aloud should have done this. 6/5
'Every Little Thing' is 'Sweet Dreams My LA Ex II' seriously, the beat is the same the sound is the same the lyrics are different and there are a few new electro beeps. Some how the cheeky bint gets away with it as its such a good tune. " You cant hide it, baby don't deny it, I'm your fantasy, Oh I want every little thing that you don't, you're standing in a different corner, trying to get the best of me" classic pop. 5/5
As it's been so acclaimed bonus track 'Dumb Dumb' could be the next single if Rachel's releases another. "All she wants is love, and all she wants is dumb, der da dumb, searching for a touch that's more than just a dumb dader dumb, hides behind a heart and all we see is dumb, dumb, dumb, you could give her love, love, love." This is a very Barberella song with 'dressed in pink' 'her teardrops will explode into the night that glitters' and 'she trips a light fantastic'. A superb dancey ending to one of the best pop albums in years certainly of 2005! 5/5

...appearing on this year's Strictly Come Dancing.
Come and Get It is the second studio album from Rachel Stevens. It was released on 17th October 2005. The album comes under the pop genre. There are thirteen tracks on the album.
To be honest I hadn't heard of this album until around two years after it's release. It must have been poorly advertised , because usually , me being a magazine and music addict , I always know when someone has a new CD out ... ...Here I will give a brief description on a selection of songs from the album.
* So Good *
This song has a strong beat , which means you can have a good dance to it. I like the 'club feel' this song has. This song reminds me of Kylie ; it has a similar sound to Kylie's songs. I love the chorus , it's very catchy.
* Crazy Boys *
I can't make up my mind whether I like this song or not. I think it depends on what mood I'm in , because sometimes when ...

Advantages: Easy on the ear, some good pop Disadvantages: May be a bit too pop for some people, not much variety
This is Rachel Stevens' second solo album since leaving S club 7. It's pretty much the type of music I expected from her - Poppy, something to have on while your getting ready to go out or something.
I had heard a couple of her songs on the radio (Some Girls, Negotiate With Love, So Good) and was quite surprised to find that I actually really liked them so, I thought I'd give her album a go, as let's face it, buying the three songs that I liked ... ...album.
Overall, it sounds like a cross between Kylie, and Goldfrapp. Catchy pop tunes that you just can't help but sing along to. There are one or two weak songs on this album, but even they are not too bad actually, and let's face it all albums have a couple of songs just stuck on there as 'fillers', it's all a matter of taste I suppose. Some of my favourite songs include Negotiate with Love, I Said Never Again (But here We Are), Funny How. My ...

Advantages: Bright and happy pop at its best Disadvantages: Some songs are a bit forgettable
Rachel has clawed her way back for this second album following the disappointing response to her debut, Funky Dory. Amid rumours of her being dropped by her label, Rachel is fighting back with this gem. There seems to be some public backlash and stigma against Rachel Stevens and, I admit, perhaps her model looks and designer clothes don't inspire much sympathy, but I would like to fight her corner! Despite her talent, down-to-earth personality and ... ...and battle with each single against those eagerly waiting to see her fall flat on her face. There seems to be some preconception that Rachel's music is somewhat tacky or just not credible, but you have to remember, Rachel is not claiming to be a disco diva, an indie girl or a deep and meaningful singer/songwriter, Rachel does what she does and she does it well - she sings great pop. If you are looking for an album to give you pause for thought or ...
