Norah Jones has been achieving great things recently but it all started with her singing to groups of about 20 people often just for tips. She spent years singing in cafe bars and small clubs in New York.
However, 24 year old Norah Jones has been deservedly successful with this her debut album 'Come Away with Me' which has won her five Grammy awards (she was nominated for 8!) including 'Album of the Year' and 'Record of the Year' for 'Dont Know Why'. The legendary Arif Mardin produced the album with additional production by Norah herself amongst others.
When you want to unwind, this is the perfect album. When you just want to sit down with a glass of wine, and put your feet up, its ideal, have this playing in the background. Having loved the sound of Michelle Branch and Vanessa Carlton, this album appealed to me. Although being far different from these two artists, Norah's voice and beautiful songs are a relieving change from some of the other female artists around at the moment. Norah's sound is very mellow, the words are beautiful, and listening to her album is cheering as well as relaxing. Its different enough to be refreshing and has already given her tremendous success. This is a great album to have in your collection because it is pure chillout, unwind and listen.
The sleeve reflects the album in every way. Norah looks dreamy, a lot of songs on the album are very dreamy indeed, they make you float away with her. The sleeve is simple, but it is so important that the lyrics are included, have a read.
As i felt that artists were getting samey Norah's album is a refreshing change. Yes she is another young lady with a great voice sitting at a piano and singing very pretty songs, but there is something about her, and you will see this when you go buy it, and you really should. All this comes from me who gets all excited about a new album I am getting and is often so disappointed when the only songs I like are those I heard already. Norah's album is great from start to finish and I hope that you wont be disappointed! How could you not like it! Cant wait till the next album, its due out in February 2004 and will be titled 'Feels like Home', she's been nominated for a Grammy in 2004 too!

This is not bad first opinion. i actualy had difficulty rating it as this was my last opinion and did not want to seem to be giving sour grapes.
I would tlk about the tracks more and please do not use text speak (u). Treat it like a formal piece of work

In Come Away with Me, it is not just the timbre of Norah Jones's voice that is mature ... more
