Norah Jones is an amazing artist, she sings the blues on this album with style and magnitude. I wasnt a huge fan of this style before I bought this album but after I heard it, I took the initiative to watch Norah Jones' concert and it was amazing. She has her own unique personality and is very gifted on the piano. Here is a guide for curious potential buyers:
1. I Don't Know Why. This song I believe is talking of those days where you would sit by the tv watching a programme and regretting not getting back to someone. Norah's song has lines like 'I left u by the house of fun' and 'u'll be on my mind for ever' so perhaps Norah is looking at her first love?
2. Seven Years. This song has a lot of beat to it. It reminds me of fever and other tracks from the forties/fifties that give you a rush to listen to.
3. Cold Cold Heart. Here Norah Jones is trying to get through to a man who is not responding. Madonna touches on the same subject in Frozen and it is interesting to contrast the two. Norah's is a plea and Madonna's is a recognition and an escape.
4. Feelin' The Same Way. I like this song. Norah Jones is delighting in the prospect of two people sharing their emotions. The song is soft and flowing with the right balance of percussion.
5. Come Away With Me. My favourite on the album because Norah Jones whisks us away through the night scenery and promise of going to a better land. Excellent!! Lots of joyful melodies.
6. Shoot The Moon. A lovely piece of music. Shoot the moon is a song that mixes fantasy with real life. If we could shoot the moon for our wishes to come true, we would and if it would improve a lost soul, listening to this album would be a must.
7. Turn Me On. This song was used in Love Actually. I think it is Norah's sexy side coming to light. All girls love to be given attention and in this song, Norah lets us anticipate this couple's passionate antics.
8. Lonestar. Ok. I think this song is suited to driving and chilling out. It is great that Norah and her band use their own real life talent and no computer is used for enhancement.
9. I've Got To See You Again. A very energetic track and Norah Jones at her singing peak. The music is like a race against time.
10. If I Were A Painter. Interesting song here. Norah throws us offguard with this one. Still, we do appreciate that whatever she did as a profession it would have pleanty of vitality and creativity.
11. One Flight Down. This song has lots of scales in it and we feel we experience Norah's full vocal capacity. Keep up the talent!!
12. Nightingale. I think that Norah is interested in things of beauty. The nightingale is renound for its wonderful voice so perhaps Norah wants to be the nightingale of the human song world.
13. The Long Day Is Over. As Norah's album finishes, this song gets us ready for a close too. Norah mentions 'work' a term we will all recognise and associate with 9-5.
14. The Nearness Of You. Romantic, cute and a tribute to men that stand by their women after that long day is over. A lovely end to Norah's first album's story.

I'm not sure if I'd like this album.I think it would be good to have in because I think some days it would be great to chill out to and relax but other days I think I'd find it quite boring.
