Well.... In Flames. Possibly the greatest band of all time, and now with a new album which is even better than the rest of their stuff!
All of the songs in the album are written with great meaning, but also manages to sound amazing! An awesome feat, especially considering the English lyrics were written by someone whose first language is Swedish.
It starts loudly with Take This Life, a complete emotion-filled masterpiece, followed by Leeches and Reflect The Storm, filled with powerful guitaring. Then you have Dead End, featuring some different vocals - adding variety to the piece. Scream combines some visceral drumming with skillful guitaring for a great sound.
The title track (Come Clarity) of the album is strangely quite different from the rest of the album, and sounds like In Flames were trying to appeal to another musical fan group as well as keeping the death metal fans happy. It manages to be heavy and light in the same track, and combines anger and love for a stunning audiological masterpiece.
Vacuum brings back the heaviness to the album after Come Clarity, but lacks an intro. Pacing Death's Trail, Crawl Through Knives and Versus Terminus have a certain momentum that feels like a speeding bullet. The album doesn't slow down at all through Our Infinite Struggle, but when it ends with Your Bedtime Story Is Scaring Everyone, the listener is drawn back into reality with the strange quietness, until it finishes with a nice bit of screaming.
This will probably be one of the best bodies of work for many years to come. A MUST BUY for Death Metal and Heavy Metal fans.

Great review! What an amazing album, listening to take this life atm and the only word to describe it is epic. A truely awesome band and album, well worth the 5 stars you gave it. Feel free to browse some of my reviews. Peace.
Advantages: Fantastic lyrical album with plenty of thought behind it Disadvantages: Some simple riffs where perhaps more complexity would have been better

Advantages: Clearer Sound Compared to past albums, larger target audience, more adventurous drumming Disadvantages: Not for those who like raw death metal, more clean vocals could be a put off
