Scooby Snacks
Review of Come Find Yourself - Fun Lovin' Criminals by WrexhamAFC

Advantages: Great originality, cool lyrics
Disadvantages: Not as good as next album

...album is probably better, but come find yourself is still excellent - the sounds vary a lot - delicious acid jazz and then a bit of rock , and then mostly - their own style of rap'n'rhythm. "Stick it up punk - it's the Fun Lovin' Criminals" - is a line that'll stick in your head all day - and it is a very original album. Old Huey , is a pretty cool frontman - but the drummer and bassist are brilliant too. It is a great album for anyone who liked ... Read review

The Kings of Cool
Review of Come Find Yourself - Fun Lovin' Criminals by yhwman

Advantages: Nicely different
Disadvantages: None really

The first FLC album is a lot harder edged than their follow up, 100% Colombian and me being me I prefer it for that, though plenty of my friends prefer 100% Colombian, it’s not really a quality difference thing, just a different mood. It’s hard to pick standout tracks from this, but I will try. The Fun Lovin’ Criminal, Scooby Snacks, Bombin’ The L, King of New York, Methadonia and Coney Island Girl are, for me, the best tracks. The album isn’t all ... Read review

Raw New York-ness
Review of Come Find Yourself - Fun Lovin' Criminals by Alternum

Advantages: Great to listen to on a summer's day
Disadvantages: None!

The first album by the Fun Lovin' Criminals is in some senses their best. Although it is by no means as polished as later albums, it displays in its most raw form that sense of being on New York streets which seems to drive the band, that sense of dodging and sliding through life. Including such classics as 'Scooby Snacks' and 'King of New York', there is much bad language - I leave it to you as to whether that's a good or a bad thing - and the overall ...
...the other two released, is of a band who are just having a bit of fun, before the record companies and the restrictions and the money get a hold of them. This album is great for a hot summer's evening, much like all the band's releases - and if you're prepared to overlook a couple of weak tracks, if you liked the singles, you'll love this. ... Review of Come Find Yourself - Fun Lovin' Criminals by gches

Advantages: Great album with absolutely excellent songs
Disadvantages: Nothing

...scene with this debut album Come Find Yourself, and have proved why people are sitting up and taking notice. The songs on this album range between mellow chilled songs and poppy rocky numbers both of which are excellent. Obviously the The Fun Lovin' Criminals track, Scooby Snacks, We Have All The Time In The World and I Can't Get With That are some of the tracks that you will love after a few listens. The music here is just generally good all round ... Read review

Stroke of Genius
Review of Is This It - Strokes (The) by  scruff

Advantages: The album cover and that this is the best debut album in ages.
Disadvantages: None - well maybe it is a bit short

...that is it 37 minutes and the album finishes – but is it enough to justify them as the saviours of Rock music? Well to be honest no. Although this is a superb debut album the band rely a bit to heavily on their idols (Oasis and the Beatles come to mind). Having said that it is the best debut album I’ve heard since Come Find Yourself by the Fun LovinCriminals. As usual the press has over-hyped the album and really hope this doesn’t become a burden to the band. I think the title for the saviours of Rock n’ Roll is still up for grabs and although The Strokes are not quite contenders yet they have shown plenty of potential for the future. Definitely a band to keep an eye on over the coming months. Scruff 21/09/01... Read review

Bag of Hits
Review of Live - Fun Lovin' Criminals by  Katecgreen

Advantages: Funky, brilliant
Disadvantages: CIAO won't add it to new products

...;t have to sit through them on this album. ~Tracks~ 1. The Fun Lovin Criminal Originally taken from the “Come Find Yourself” album. For me this is the originally fun loving criminals album, possibly because of the lyrics “Stick em up punk, the Fun Lovin Criminals”. There’s a background guitar along with this track. 2. Up on the Hill Originally taken from the “100% Colombian” album 3. Loco Originally taken from the “Loco” album 4. Korean Bodega Originally taken from the “100% Colombian” album 5. A new direction
Review of Loco - Fun Lovin' Criminals by  yhwman

Advantages: A new sound
Disadvantages: One bad track

...Everyone’s favourite gangsters return with their third album (Fourth if you count the bits ‘n’ pieces compilation Mimosa but personally I prefer not to) and their first with new drummer Mackie, the only member of the band who actually looks like a criminal. Anyway, before I deal with Loco a brief history of the Fun LovinCriminals for those unfamiliar with their music. The first album, Come Find Yourself is best described as Gangster Rock, mixing hip-hop, lounge, rap and rock. The album spawned the hits “Scooby Snacks”, “The Fun LovinCriminal” and “The King of New York”. Their second album, 100% Colombian altered the mix by removing most of the rock element of their sound and cranking up the lounge. The end result was pretty good, but at times it was to laid back...
