he is certainly weird...
Advantages: makes you laugh out loud Disadvantages: takes a while to get into some songs
weird al yankovic creates the funniest songs and tunes ever in my opinion. he turns the lyrics in a song to make them extremely funny and it certainly works. e.g "i want it that way"- by the backstreet boys - turns into "which backstreet boy is gay". when i first listened to one of his songs "amish paradise" ("gangsters paradise") it reduced me to tears. dont get me wrong there was a couple of songs that were quite boring or took a while to get into ...

Satire with a touch of innocence from a bygone age
Advantages: Witty, funny, entertaining, charm of a lost era Disadvantages: A few of the references seem a little dated
If you long for humour which doesn't depend on vitriol, swearing, sexual innuendo or childishness, this three CD set is just what you have been looking for.
Michael Flanders and Donald Swann were big stars in England in the late 1950 and early 1960s, also touring Canada, the USA and Australia. The wheelchair bound Flanders was the 'funny' man on vocals, with Swann 'the straight' man on the piano. Their repertoire is marked by a gentle and wry humour, ... ...so much contemporary humour. As Flanders says himself in one of his introductions in At the Drop of Another Hat, "the purpose of Satire, it has been rightly said, is to strip off the veneer of comforting illusion and cosy half-truth - and our job, as I see it, is to put it back again. "
There are some great examples of stoical British humour, such as "The Gas Man Cometh" and "A Song for the Weather". Flanders' wordplay is perhaps shown off best ...

Don't dread this Zeppelin!
Advantages: Wonderful musicianship Disadvantages: none unless you have a very narrow mind
I can't believe no one has reviewed or rated this album as yet! So, what does the name Dread Zeppelin conjure up? Well, if you're thinking along thelines of Dread - could be reggae, and Zeppelin.. something to do with rock legends Led Zeppelin... you would be half way there. There's a bit more to it than that though. It is Led Zep, 'reggaefied', but with an Elvis Presley impersonator on vocals. Yep, you heard that correctly... Led Zep, reggae style ... ...the thing about this band is that they took their music very seriously... this isn't just a spoof or micky-take of Led Zep. This is a band that plays the music superbly, and actually does something you would not expect - it adds to the music of Zeppelin. Let's not forget that Zep themselves toyed with reggae a few times, especially on the tongue in cheek D'Yer Maker track on the Houses of the Holy album. Take that a big step further and you have ...

Smells Like Nirvana?
Advantages: Humouress without offense Disadvantages: Lyrics aren't really well thought, what ever rhymes, stick it in!
...meant to be. Off the deep end starts with the Nirvana theme, the all too famous 'smells likes teen spirit' with it's new title 'smells like Nirvana' It doesn't even matter that the lyrics aren't really that wonderful, and obviously no deep thought has been taken to write them but it still sounds great! With 'Hello, hello, hello, heeelllooo' translating to 'Don't know, don't know, don't know, dooon't knoow' We see a slight sense of 'taking the mick' ... ...we don't sound like Madonna' and Buy our album, we're Nirvana' but no one cares! Weird Al just has this touch which would allow him to take the mick out of the most meaningful song ever but we still wouldn't mind! We even like the way he just adds stupid words just to rhyme! 'A garage band from Seattle. Well, it sure beats raising cattle'
All the other songs are just as great! I'm sure there's a song that will tickle your fancy
You just gotta love ...

How much more black could this be? and the answer is none.
Advantages: You can turn this one all the way up to 11. Disadvantages: Unfortunately this is not a real band.
...British heavy metal band released this collection of songs from the albums soundtrack as homage to the “Smell the Glove” album that they were promoting through the film. Due to the album being released as a soundtrack it never really received any great success chart wise and was mainly just purchased by those who, like me are great fans of the film. Now firstly let me start by saying that if you haven’t seen the film that accompanies this album it ... ...at least after you’ve read this anyway.)
Like I’ve said the band themselves are completely factious everything from who they are to their previous career which was made up only for the purpose of the film.
Just who are “Tap”?
The main members of the band consist of some quite well known American actors, that’s right I did just type American as once you hear them talking in the film or singing on this album you would swear they where English.
