Comet - Good Deals, Bad Staff

Advantages: Found a Great Deal
Disadvantages: Staff almost Insist of giving you warranty, Poor Technical Help, Not there when you need help

About a few months ago I was searching for a new laptop for my mum?s birthday, I needed something quality and cheap, but mainly of all, I needed it fast, so buying it online was out of the question because even the sites I trust to give me fast delivery like eBuyer can let you down, so I was hunting around the typical computer shops like Curry?s, PC World and even went into Toys ?R? Us to have a look, all the computers in my price range were really under powered and I wanted a laptop that give me a lot of bang for buck, so I wanted the highest specs for the cheapest price, which is hard to find in a typical high street retailer. After about an hour of searching I stumbled into Comet, the last place I thought I?d find a deal because typically they rev up the price for everything. That's Comet NONsense

Advantages: Cheap, good range
Disadvantages: They lie!

Over the Christmas period our fridge freezer broke down. Against our better judgement, and only because we felt we really needed refrigeration with 2 babies in the house, we ventured out into the post-Christmas sales. We found a great model (which I'll review in a few months time!) in Comet. I will say, it was a great price, at only £499 for an LG all-singing-all-dancing USA-style unit. But, actually buying the thing was not easy as the store was heaving. Eventually my husband and myself managed to tackle a passing assistant and pin him in a corner where he couldn't escape! The assistant SEEMED very helpful. We pointed out the model we wanted and he looked on the computer system to see when it could be delivered, and most importantly, plumbed in, since it had an ice-maker/dispenser. Review of Comet (Shop)

Refreshingly good service from Comet.

Advantages: Cheap, efficient, helpful.
Disadvantages: Small range, not enough delivery staff.

I had not visited Comet for some years, mainly as I thought they were a bit 2nd rate, this seemed to be confirmed by reviews I have read here on Ciao and elsewhere. However, when our washer broke we decided to give Comet a try. There is a local store which has ample parking and is situated on a small industrial estate, so that was helpful for a start. We visited on Good Friday, and were pleasantly surprised at both the easy layout of the shop, and the number of staff working. The products we wanted to look at just happened to be the first display in the shop, and all the washing machines were displayed with their energy ratings, cost and whether or not they were currently in stock. After going to the counter and asking for some assistance, within seconds a really helpful guy appeared and spent some time not only explaining ...
