Advantages: Possibly the best tenor saxophonist ever - without a doubt the best still alive! Disadvantages: None - if you want to see him live, you should try to soon - he's getting on a bit now - 73 yrs old now - still as good as ever though!
SonnyRollins is my favourite tenor saxophonist, and is in my opinion the best saxophonist ever. Sonny has a lovely deep, rich tone, right the way from the bottom of his horn to the top. Like many of the great jazz musicians, Sonny was not only a great player, but also a great composer, having written loads of tunes, including St Thomas, Tenor Madness, Doxy, Oleo, Airegin, to name but a few.
SonnyRollins has recorded many famous C.D.'s, but perhaps his best two, and my favourite are saxophone colossus and tenor madness (featuring a stunning recording of tenor madness with coltrane and rollins playing together!) Both of these C.D's feature SonnyRollins in full swing, at the top of his playing, with his classic tone and characteristic phrasing and solo's.

Advantages: Driven by musical passion. Great Jazz structures (+ lack of) Disadvantages: All tracks are very similar (no variation)
A must have for all JTQ fans.
This album incorporates acid jazz with the classic James Taylor quartet sound.
Opening with Joe's Diversions, the hammond organ sound takes lead throughout the album.
Vocals from new singer Yvonne Yanney bring new light to the quartet - the most prominent track being 'It's all over'.
For all jazz, and especially acid jazz fans, this album provides complex melodies and harmonies, whilst capturing the unusally simple structures of acid.
The album is well produced, and the selection of tracks (11 in total) are well chosen.
I would recommend this album to all fans of JTQ and jazz, and to those who are willing to try something new in their musical tastes.
Truly a great album, full of musical passion. ...
Advantages: Relaxed and lovely Disadvantages: Expensive and not a huge amount to do

Warning #2 ~ Accessibility
As I mentioned earlier we travelled without children so I can't give blanket commentary on the accessibility of the city and attractions for buggies or wheelchairs. From what I could see where modernisation has taken place accessibility was very good with lots of lifts and ramped access but it should also be noted that this is an old city and many of the more historic sites may have limited access.
Warning #3 ~ Guide Books
As with any city break it is advisable to have a good guide book to hand. What I would advise is NOT to invest in ...
