Advantages: Great jazz tunes from the Golden Age Disadvantages: None
...This is real jazz, from the real Golden Age of Jazz. It's got the pace, the rhythm, the fluid trumpet playing, the relentlessly enthusiastic, rolling piano playing and the clear diction of some excellent singing of vocalists who could not only hold a tune, but who could capture your heart and soul, too…
There's musicians with such great names as Muggsy Spanier, Meade Lux Lewis, King Oliver and Sidney Bechet. You do not get musicians called Muggsy nowadays. I wonder why?
As well as straight out jazz such as the Dippermouth blues, there's also the dreamy and melodic April in Paris from CharlieParker. Some jazz aficionados reckon that CharlieParker eventually sold out. Well, perhaps he did. But some of his earlier work still stands the test of time.
Jack Teagarden is on this CD, with So Many Times, a rather nice, well...

Advantages: Charlie Parker of course. Disadvantages: None.
...Crazeology - CharlieParker

His sound is incredibly distinctive, despite the fact that he played on numerous...

Advantages: amazing interpretation of a classical piece Disadvantages: Let me think about that.....hmmmmmm...........aaaaaaaaa...no
...What in the world is wrong with me anyway? I keep promising to myself that I will stop giving conventional characterizations of jazz greats, but I can't help it, something is pushing me. So what I decided to do? A Miles review(Let's give a warm applause to the idiot). Thank you guys I appreciate it. All right, first of all who this Miles something guy is supposed to be.
Well Miles Davis, and here is where I start the conventional staff, is probably the jazz guy that actually invented the most styles in jazz than any other guy. All right CharlieParker and Gizzy Gillespie invented be-bop, John Coltrane modal jazz but do you want hear what Miles invented? Cool jazz, jazz-rock, fusion, commercial jazz. Not bad for a trumpet player(sorry trumpeteers). Not to mention the people that he has shared stage with: CharlieParker, Dizzy Gillespie...
