Advantages: Some good remixes and the price
Disadvantages: Not many, some fillers but i suppose you get that with every album

A Girl Part 1 - Usher, Loon & P Diddy. Great chorus and catchy lyrics from usher, definately one for the ladies but a really popular tune. Unfoolish - Ashanti & Notorious BIG. Loads of radio play this one, mixing Biggies old tune, i think the video got more airplay than the original and another cult classic Dance With Me/Peaches And Cream - 112, Ludacris & Beanie Segal. Great mix with the two best tunes from the 112 album. Great r&b club tracks and more cult classics No More Drama - Mary J Blige. Compared to what has come before on this album, the Mary track falls just short. Its a mid tempo track which is just middle of the road So complete - Cherri Dennis. I can basically repeat the same as above, not really much going on Notorious - Lil Kim, Notorious BIG & P Diddy. Nowhere near the original in my opinion but my brother loves it ...

Manumission, Ibiza for the mainstream?

This is my first review on music, so if anyone has any comments on how I might improve the review they would be more than welcome. Manumission The Ibiza Classics Collection. Presentation: It's a collection of 3 CD's (48 Tracks) that come in individual jewel cases within a cardboard sleeve. Personally I always end up throwing the sleeve away and the jewel cases are particularly thin and don't fit too well in stands etc. The artwork is pretty basic just a large M with what appears to be a collage of Manumission posters within it, on a white background. Each CD and the sleeve has the same artwork. The individual cases only list the songs there is a separate sleeve that lists the date of release, producers etc.. This is slightly annoying if you do not wish to keep the cardboard sleeve as it will not fit into the CD cases. CD1 1 ...

Review of Manumission - Ibiza Classics Collection - Various Artists

Not just your average Ibiza album

Advantages: Great for relaxing to. Not your average Ibiza album.
Disadvantages: Can be a bit too relaxing at times. Not to everyone's taste.

I'm not your typical Ibiza type. I want to get that straight before we start. Anyhow, the other day, I was sitting in front of the infernal box, watching some high-brow programme when an advert came on for this album. It seemed fairly laid back and didn't bring up too many images of drugged up pillocks on some Mediteranian island. As the cover notes go out of their way to explain, there are different sides to Ibiza, the not-so-chilled-out side, and the chilled-out side, which, although it's had less publicity, is definately worth paying attention to. The album is a two-CD set, CD1 being the more laid back of the two. It starts with the mellow sounds of Kinobe's "Slip into something more comfortable", and manages to avoid anything that I'd heard of until Massive Attack's "Teardrop" with it's pounding bass.
