In May 1982, House Of Fun gave Madness their first number 1 single. This coincided with their achievement of a number 1 album, with the glorious compilation, Complete Madness, described by one national paper as an essential LP for people who wouldn’t normally buy records.”
The collection recorded a long stream of hits which the nutty band had achieved in their short three year recording life and as a whole they represented a sublime piece of work. Just listen to these and drool - Embarrassment, Baggy Trousers, It Must Be Love, Night Boat To Cairo, The Return Of The Los Palmas 7, House Of Fun, One Step Beyond and the rest - a truly amazing list of some of the most consistently strong singles of the early 1980’s - Madness in their prime were truly a wonder to behold. If you only ever buy one album GET THIS ONE.
