Advantages: It's got a DVD Disadvantages: Another version to buy
...sounds like a track that wouldn’t have been out of place in old road house with everyone round the fire drinking moonshine and playing music.
The bravest song on the album was the last track on the first incarnation of this album, “Don’t Miss You at All” was an old instrumental track called “Melanchoila” by the duke of jazz DukeEllington, Norah has added lyrics and an old piece of jazz is now something else.
Now the added songs begin the first being a song called “Sleepless Nights” this track sounds like an out-take from the recording sessions, along with the other 2 songs, 1 of which has already appeared as the B-side too the “Sunrise” single. The song “Moon Song” also appears on the D.V.D called “Norah Jones and the Handsome Band Live 2004”.

Top big band tunes Review ofSuch Sweet Thunder - DukeEllington & His Orchestraby
JaySee
Advantages: Superb playing and well-written music, cliche free Disadvantages: Nothing
...I've been reluctant to write about this CD, since I generally can't string together two words about it. However, it is hands down my favourite DukeEllington CD, so I thought I'd share my thoughts with you all! 'Such Sweet Thunder' is dedicated to the Stratford, Ontario Shakespearean Festival, and all the pieces are based on Shakepeare characters or sonnets. This has absolutely no reflection in the music though, so it's best just to sit back and enjoy the ride.
Track Listing (HUGE, bear with me)
1. Such Sweet Thunder, 2. Sonnet for Caesar, 3. Sonnet to Hank Cinq, 4. Lady Mac, 5. Sonnet in Search of a Moor, 6. The Telecasters, 7. Up And Down, 8. Sonnet for Sister Kate, 9. The Star-Crossed Lovers, 10. Madness in Great Ones, 11. Half the Fun, 12. Circle of Fourths, BONUS TRACKS: 13. The Star-Crossed Lovers, 14. Circle of Fourths, 15...

Advantages: Extra tracks - A Must for Collectors Disadvantages: Can't think of any
...Whilst I realise that these early Bowie album re-issues are mainly playing on the enthusiast's aim for completeness, this is one of the better, in my opinion. I am, admittedly, a big fan of the Duke, and as such am interested in the Arnold Corns versions on the second disc (especially as I hadn't really heard of them until the Bowie at the Beeb BBC sessions release). My main reason for this purchase (as I already owned the single CD version) was the track Velvet Goldmine, of which I hadn't got a copy. The demo versions of Lady and Ziggy Stardust are interesting but John, I'm Only Dancing and The Supermen seem to be simply fillers. To a certain extent this is true of Round and Round and Holy Holy, but I'm not sure they are otherwise in CD format, so I can see the appeal.
It is a good presentation - I do really like book style without...
