Advantages: Lasts for ages, tastes quite nice Disadvantages: Quite Expensive
I'm quite a big fan of lipgloss as opposed to lipstick, I find that it lasts longer and generally 'tastes' better. After receiving the No7 'Liplicious' liplgoss for Christmas one year I decided to go ahead and spend the cash on the trendy Lancome 'Juicy Tubes' lipgloss.
The first thing you find is that it is quite expensive. Boots retails 15ml of Juicy Tube for £13.50 while you can cut the cost slightly on sites such as buycosmetics.com who sell 15ml for £10.95.
I purchased my Juicy Tubes from duty free in the form of 7ml mini tubes, and I got 5 tubes for £20.
What I noticed when using this lipgloss is that you only need to use a small quantity when applying - a little goes a long way. It stays in place for a good length of time, I can put mine on before I go to work and have two or three drinks before it needs touching ...
Advantages: Very funny office-related humour Disadvantages: Some repetition
Scott Adams used to work for Pac Bell before decided that rather than sit in an office cubicle, it?d be far better to quit that job and make a living writing cartoons about office life. His Dilbert cartoons are popular in newspapers - featuring a poor geek-y engineer (Dilbert), his (generally incompetent) co-workers, his (even more moronic) boss and a variety of animals (Dogbert, Ratbert, etc). Perhaps it says something of their popularity that my spellchecker recognises ?Dogbert?!
The Dilbert Principle (first published in 1996, and Sunday Times no. 1 best seller) declares itself to be ?A cubicle?s-eye view of bosses, meetings, management fads and other workplace afflictions?. That pretty much sums it up really. It?s the funniest management book you?ll ever read!
The introduction begins with an acknowledgement from Scott Adams that ...
Advantages: Excellent advice, extremely motivating, author practices what he preaches Disadvantages: Tacky, too much plugging, dodgy cover
Look past the dodgy cover*. Look past the author saying how much he loves the dodgy cover in his acknowledgements. Look past the dodgy ?infomercial? vibe that this book is radiating and you?ll actually find a wealth of good advice. The main reassurance that I found in the initial pages is that the author, Jack Canfield, is a very successful man with a very high income who actually started from humble beginnings and built his wealth himself. Not only does that qualify him to write a book on success, but he also claims to follow every single one of these principles himself.
So who is Jack Canfield? He?s best known as the co-creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series of books, which he wanted to write because he wanted to inspire people with inspirational stories and thus create a self-help book without any of the usual self ...
