Advantages: Great album, great listenability and powerful lyrics Disadvantages: If you aren't into the indie scene, it can seem a tad samey
.... 'They're just trying to be odd' you say 'a gimmick to look original'. Well no,, I have discovered the aren't. They're a complex band signed to an indie label, hence they're making releases to broadcast their music and not to earn vast sums of cash. And not even in a modest "if we say we're all about the music and have a facade that we don't want fame or money, then we're sure to earn more fame and money" way. They've a cult following, a host of lyal fans, and their happy with that. They want to be this band, prasied by few for being themselves rather than liked by many for being something else.
Well I've gone on enough about them wanting to bethemselves, so you may ask what is this persona they are so proud to defend? Well as this is a music review, best we look at the CD...

Advantages: Yet more King Alice!! Disadvantages: Some really strange covers on here!!
...Yes I'm sorry folks, but it's another Alice Cooper review. But my little chums, not all is as it seems! This is an Alice Cooper tribute album. His greatest famous fans have covered some of his greatest hits in tribute to the Grand Daddy of shock Rock.
The CD Cover
On the front of the CD cover we have Alice drawn In a Marvel comic style by illustrator Tommy Pons.It shows just the corner of his face, and one eye. This is a very grey portrait of the man,and is projected onto a grey background. In the left hand corner is a Black Widow spider dangling near the words Humanary Stew,Atribute to Alice Cooper.
The back of the inlay card has the track listings written in acid yellow over more pictures of babies heads and a guillotine. The actual Cd itself is grey in colour with the Black Widow spider again straight in the centre.

...portion of the media have this down as an Anti-America record, but upon reading the lyrics and really listening to the songs, it turns out this may, in some freakish way, be pro-America. I had a comment on my first review saying that this may be the case as it shows the right to ‘express yourself’ and ‘be different’ and to that person I say well done for making a damn good point. Being British, all this pro and anti-American stuff doesn’t apply, but it is easy to see that there is no better form of expression than through music, and in Billie Joe Armstrong, Green Day have a damn good man for the job. Lyrically, musically and mentally ….. ‘American Idiot’ is a masterpiece. What has come before, Dookie, Nimrod etc, was the set-up for an assault on the mind that is just so irresistible that I find it extremely difficult to turn my CD player off...
