Advantages: Contains a vast diversity of music from David Coverdale's post Deep Purple carrier
Disadvantages: Nothing, unless you hate Whitesnake (and if you did you wouldn't be reading this)

Whitesnakes 30th Anniversary Collection appears to be a glorified greatest hit album. However it's more than this. Its 52 tracks contain live tracks, the original version of Here I Go Again, songs from David Coverdale's (DC's) album with Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin and of course songs from DC's solo work. The three CD's cover the carrier of DC after he left Deep Purple. The first disc with tracks like Ready An' Willing and Fool For Your Loving (live) brings Whitesnakes blues element through to the listener beautifully. I would say the first disc is best of Whitesnakes blues. The second CD contains the Coverdale Page songs as well as more live songs and a collection of Whitesnake hits. Take No Prisoners (Live) - Lou Reed

Advantages: superb sound, superb performances
Disadvantages: a couple of songs drag a bit

Jane" crashes in. The band are amazingly tight, the overall sound quality is faultless and I find it absolutely thrilling. Mid song, and we get the first of many diversions. As the band takes it down behind Lou he starts chatting away. The whole album is full of snappy one-liners, and delightfully caustic put-downs. No one is safe - critics, hecklers, the Warhol scene, Patti Smith, politics. During "Walk On The Wild Side" Lou decides to tell the story of how he came to write the song. After 15 minutes the song peters out a little and he's only sung the first verse! "Waiting For The Man" is similarly strung out, with loads of chat before morphing into an uncredited "Temporary Thing". But it's all like that. "Coney Island Baby" is quite brilliantly performed, the conclusion is deeply affecting as Lou and the backing singers chant, over ...

Halloween Jack is a 30 year old cat..

does have a very naughty couplet “inside every teenage girl is a fountain, inside every young pair of pants there’s a mountain”. This like looking at an artist’s sketch book, this the idea but I will do this instead. Diamond Dogs (K.Tel edit) (4.37) this is a unique edit of the title track to fit the 1980 best of catalogue number (NE1111). I still have the advertising poster for this along with other posters in a box in the loft ka-ching! Candidate (2.37) (Intimacy mix) the album track re-mixed for the soundtrack of the film “Intimacy”.
