After loving Usher's 8701 album I was dubious about this one because it had received so much hype, but I needn't have woried as Usher delivers a wonderful follow up album!
The whole experience of listening to Confessions by Usher is enjoyable. It is so nice to see an artist mature in the way Usher has. In the past year or so he has had to deal with an extremely public break-up and impregnating a girl he hardly knows. That is what the Confessions album is all about and Usher is really able to make the listener believe the emotions he portrays in his songs because he blieves them himself.
There are several interludes/intros included on the album and even these make for compelling listening. I intended to put Confessions on for 5-10 minutes while getting ready for a party but I couldn't leave until I had heard the entire album.
My particular favourite songs are Burn - a typical Usher track, Caught Up - a jumpy number and Confession Part II - Usher's most honest track. The only downfall to the album, if you see it as one, is that Yeah! and Caught Up are the only real dancy tracks on the album as the others are all reasonably slow.
The songs in the latter half of the album sound reasonably similar to each other, but if you take the time to listen to the lyrics then they stand apart from one another quite distinctly and each song lets us have a different insight into Usher Raymond's dealing with his Confessions!
This, in my opinion, is even better then 8701. The songs are more real and although there isn't as much variety, each one is unique. His voice is very easy to listen to and would appeal to most people into R'n'B styled music, i.e. it is very soft on the ears, flowing. It is hard to say who Usher is similar to as I believe his voice is unique!
An outstanding album that will remain in my CD player for years to come!
obiography, and that's certainly the case withConfessions, Usher's first record since 2001's8701. The Atlanta singer's string of hits over the past decade have been decidedly...

Alright album - with 4 good songs on in my opinion. Burn is a real grower and a classic but none of the songs match up to You Make Me Wanna still...
