Advantages: this music is fantastic Disadvantages: When you hear this you want the rest of the putamayo CDs
...This CD takes you on a musical journey around the different cultures in Brazil.
Most of the songs are in Brazilian Portuguese, so they give you an insight into how the Brazilian people have changed the original Portuguese language and made it their own. A few of the songs are in other languages, such as one in french, which has a very samba like quality to it. This se of a different language mixed in with the native language helps to demonstrate the cultural diversity in Brazil, and the rich education that people can get if they want to. This helps to put to shame the common preconception based on the reports of the many thousands of people in Brazil living in shanty towns. It is true that there are many people living in those squallid conditions, but this CD shows that there is another side to Brazil and that some of the aspects...

Advantages: Very Heavy Disadvantages: a few low points
...Bruces solo career was looking all together average until this album came along. One of the reasons for this is that he came together with former, and current, maiden guitarist Adrian Smith for the song writing and music for this album.
it is VERY heavy, heavier than maiden. If modern heavy bands had vocals as good as this, theyd be classic too.
Good songs, excellent vocals.
Check out the Road To Hell and Accident of Birth

Advantages: Great lyrics, good music, wonderfully talented artist Disadvantages: She's no longer with us.
...This is the second Kirsty MacColl that I bought; the first being Galore (I have written a review on that aswell). I've only had it a week but I have already listened to the whole of it lots of times. It is very Latino as Kirsty (R.I.P) was heavily influenced by Latin countries such as Brazil and Cuba. In the years leading up to this album been released in early 2000, she spent a lot of time visiting these countries. She famously posed lighting a giant Cuban cigar on the front cover for her hit single 'Caroline'. I thought that the album would be entirely Latino, but there are breaks from it. It unfortunately only managed no. 39 in the UK Charts and within 9 weeks it had been knocked out altogether.
Track Listening:
Mambo De La Luna- 4.38
In These Shoes - 3.39
Treachery- 3.51
