Since the X-Files, supernatural thrillers have become a staple for television, the cinema and, of course, direct to video release.
Convergence is one of the latter, which in itself is not neccesarily a bad thing, there's often been a tendency amongst this genre for the lower budgets to yield higher rewards, but alas with Convergence this is not the case.
The plot centres on the exploits of a pair of tabloid reporters (Bear in mind we are talking American tabloids here, whose staples are UFOs, bigfoots and Elvis sightings), who get caught up in more than a few strange incidents themselves. Things seem to start moving when Ali (Cynthia Preston) suffers peculiar delusions and starts wandering across town, as if being called to a certain location.

Let me first start by saying that this album was my introduction to converge, i had never heard of them before, and I'm not a particularly huge hardcore fan, but this album is easily the most raw and brutal album that is in my possession. The album has a running time of about 40 minutes, 30 minus the title track, and although this might put you off for fear of a lack of substance, if you are looking for something original fresh, incredibly emotional and aggressive you have come to the right place. Jane Doe honestly makes me want to rip someone apart sometimes, tracks like concubine, and home wrecker are crushing, focused high tempo pieces of musical genius, whilst distance and meaning builds on this with a variety of tempo changes as well as other minor but noticeable touches such as use of guitar feedback in the chorus, and clean ...
the future for convergent services and is this the way forward? At the moment, I feel that there is room for the consolidation of services, to lower price, as you find with the tour operators, who combine the costs of air-fares, with local transfers and hotel accommodatoin to provide us with low cost holidays we would not be able to put together cheaper ourselves. However, is a short-term gain necessarily a long-term winner? I am not so sure in this particular market. At the moment, there is a great deal of competition from smaller companies providing individually tailored services and products, who are competing with the larger brands within the market place, such as BT, Sky and NTL.
