However fans of their EP 'This Is What The Edge Of You Seat Was Made For' may be disapointted, as the bands sound has matured quite alot, taking a more death metal/ thrash direction rather then the original emo/screamo.
The explosive opener 'Pray For Plagues' sets up the rest of the album perfectly, warning listeners with weak hearts to get off the ride. For the most part it is conisistantly good, non-stop, thrash. Oli's vocals ranging from high pitch screams to guttural death grunts. The penultimate track '15 fathoms and counting' is an acoustic instrumental that definatly shows a softer second side to the band and give a contrast to what has gone before, lulling the listener into a false sense of security before the final onsluaght of 'Off The Heezay', which is definatly going to be a mosh anthem at BMTH's shows in 2007.
If Bring Me The Horizon carrys on the way it has done, then theres no stopping the Sheffiled quintet.
Advantages: Great top quality riffs with immense backing and vocals Disadvantages: you have to have a specific taste to appreciate this type of music
Count your blessing explores originality in the terms of hardcore music. The CD is 10 tracks long and mixes brutal screaming with fast guitar riffs. The showmanship of the lead singer "Oliver Sykes" makes the band stand out from any other, just the effort that becomes apparent every time i listen to there music is immense. Personally i could listen to this CD over and over again and i would generally advise it to anybody who likes hardcore music ... ...breakdowns written to get you in the mood to mosh. i rate this CD 9.5 out of 10.

Advantages: Very Up-Beat, Still Quite Heavy Disadvantages: Not As Heavy As Their Previous Album

The Sheffield lads of BringMe The Horizon are back with their 2008 album, Suicide Season.
Their pervious album 'CountYourBlessings' set the benchmark for any other BringMe The Horizon album to be released after. The previous album was a truly heavy album which is what would you would have expected from this album. Right??
Wrong. This album is alot less heavy compared to their previous album, their lack of actual 'screaming' is very noticable. In an interview with Metal Hammer magazine, Oli Sykes stated that this album is "100% different" from CountYourBlessings. He also said "We experimented a lot more I think, more with other ...

Album Notes
While there's certainly a proud tradition of British Metal, much of it lies in the past. Judas Priest and Iron Maiden may have been the vanguard of the once-thriving Brit metal institution, but you rarely hear much about contemporary thrash coming from across the pond, especially the kind of athletic, blistering metalcore played by Sheffield's Bring Me the Horizon. Mixing guttural screams with death-metal growls, the vocals ride a careening wave of classic speed-metal guitar and helicopter-blade drum rolls. COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS displays the young band's increasing skill with manic time shifts and nimble electric solos. If there was any doubt that the land of Black Sabbath could still produce metal worth hearing, Bring Me the Horizon handily eliminate it.
