Review of At Folsom Prison/At San Quentin (The 2 Classic Prison Concerts) - Johnny Cash by skye-angel_85

Advantages: 37 awe inspiring songs
Disadvantages: None

...The first cd in this double collection is Johnny Cash At Folsom Prison. It was recorded in 1968 (well before i was born). This was the time of Presidential Abdication, The Vietnam War and the continuing Civil Rights struggle. It was also the same year Mr. Johnny Cash married Miss June Carter, his saviour. This cd really opened my eyes to what life was like "back in the day". With 19 great songs including "Folsom Prison Blues", "Cocaine Blues" and the fantastic "Jackson" a duet with June. There had never been a recording session quite like this one which produced this album. The songs on the cd's:- 1 Folsom prison blues 2 Busted 3 Dark as the dungeon 4 I still miss someone 5 Cocaine Blues 6 25 minutes to go 7 Orange Blossom Blues 8 The long Black Veil 9 Send a picture of Mother 10 The wall 11 Dirty old egg-suckin' dog 12 Flushed from... Saxed Up
Review of You Inspire Me - Curtis Stigers by mornev

Advantages: Beautiful arrangements of well loved classic songs.
Disadvantages: I can't save the six minute video to my PC.

...and trumpet with Stigers playing the tenor saxophone. 'Tired of Waiting for You' by Ray Davies is given the crooner approach featuring the piano played by Larry Golding building up to a very dramatic finish. 'Fools in Love' by Joe Jackson swings while 'Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind' by John Sebastian, the lead singer of the Loving Spoonful, has a honky-tonk rhythm with Stigers giving it a feeling of the blues with some soaring trumpet solos from John Sneider. 'I Fall in Love Too Easily' by Sammy Cahn and Jules Styne is jazz inspired with much of a Sinatra sliding vocal and a solid backing by the bass played by Ben Allison and the hammond organ. This is a way out and funky sound ending with the singer giving us a cool saxophone solo. 'She's Got a Way' by another of my favourite singer songwriters Billy Joel, also known as the Piano... Michael Jackson - Innocent
Review of Innocent - Michael Jackson by shaunmay883

Advantages: The album is much cheaper than other albums by MJ
Disadvantages: Already released singles, with a few poorly selected tracks

...This album has been released on the success of Michael Jackson's child abuse trial. It is lacking in inspiration, and recent album - The Essential Collection is much more worth purchasing. The albums cover booklet also contains previously seen photographs, with no exclusive comments from Michael Jackson himself. Some of the tracks on this album just makes you want to jump up and dance! AIOW!!!! However the album does reflect on Michael Jackson's talent that has been somewhat overlooked in the past few years. Not only is he the biggest selling solo artist of all time but has also done charity work that has helped many people accross the world in poor countries fight aids and famine. The songs on this album reflects a man whose talent for music is outstanding.... Read review
