Advantages: Consistant quality Disadvantages: A couple of tracks let it down

"5 6 3"
The style of this isn't very conventioanl as the production seems to be quite normal, with nothing to suggest it's anything out of the ordinary for an R&B track from the late '90s to early '00s, but the way Joe delivers the lines makes it seem as though it has a Latin feel to it.
I usually don't think that any Spanish influence on an R&B song works, but not over-doing it with acoustics too, so Joe makes sure that it remains subtle and sounds to be in control of the music, rather than
the concept forcing him to change his natural way of performing.

"Peep Show"
We are taken through one of Joe's usual nights in wth his girl, which are desgined for two, and would be too crowded if the 'peep show' was made any less private than between himself and whatever female he has brought home. You follwo...

Advantages: Nice selection of tracks. Great for inspiring guitarists. Disadvantages: Relatively small market niche.
...Along with the globally massive “surfing with the alien” this has to be one of Joe's more well known albums. It was also one of the first ones that I got my hands on.
On his official website “www.satriani.com” there are links to where you can hear audio clips of his album. You can also hear clips from all his other albums including his live releases. I very much suggest listening to these to hear some of his other amazing work to, and to find out if you would like to purchase a certain CD or not.
The Extremist was his 5th studio album released in 1992, so lets see how it shapes up....

Advantages: Some nice relaxing tracks. Disadvantages: Too many drawn out blues tracks
...melody which develops into a rather good song that I rather like, although there is a rather odd, sparse ending to the song which I feel is a little loose and it all gets a little bit out of place it partially detracts from the overall impression. If you listen to the song you might know what I mean. Over all a nice song. Thumbs up Joe!
9 - Killer Bee Bop
The discordant and rather alientoric beginning (i.e. its very random) leaves me wondering what on earth is going to come next…well it doesn't ever really seem to leave this realm as it becomes 3 minutes and 48 seconds of randomness, unless my cd's messed up, this song really is rather odd. Dominated with drums that are above everything else, and sounding out with the guitar, I think the guys were drunk and recorded this as a laugh, yeah…an odd song.
