Advantages: some quality material from a good duo Disadvantages: virtually unknown in the uk due to the country stigma
...that seems to only be missing the skiffle borad to complete that authentic homespun sound.
The standard country rock tunes ("My Love Will Follow You" and "Why Would I Say Goodbye") don't do the duo any justice. They fall below the par set by bigger known names like Garth Brooks or Tim McGraw (yes, he's a country singer, not just a friend of Nelly). As does the remaining ballad "Tequila Town". It seems to be stuck somewhere in the past, possibly somewhere with the abysmal "Rhinestone Cowboy" in the seventies.
Overall the album is worth a listen, if not a purchase, although of the eleven tracks only the final three I mention are a let down (although "Why Would I Say Goodbye" is still head and shoulders above any Gareth Gates track).
Available cheap on several websites, I wouldn't risk spending too much importing or buying direct...

Advantages: another quality release from this duo Disadvantages: unknown in uk due to the country label
...This, the fifth album by the country duo of Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn, is superior to their last release in many ways.
They seem a lot more settled in the various styles they attempt.
The opening track for example, "How Long Gone", is in the contemporary style we associate with the likes of Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw, but where as on the last album (Borderline) this style was the weak link this is a good tune, with a strong melody and quietly rocking riff. The vocals are great, very much settled in their own style.
Other outstanding tracks on the album are
I Can't Get Over You
This falls somewhere between contemporary and ballad and doesn't suffer for it. It has a great melody and the vocals really carry the majority of the tune along. Its almost a cry for help, and
the chorus really digs into that feeling.
