I am listening to Dougie MacLean singing on the CD CraigieDhu. Dougie MacLean is a Scottish Folksinger songwriter. He began playing in the seventies with the Tannahill Weavers and Silly Wizard. In 1983 he concentrated on his solo work. His first solo record was Cragie Dhu He wrote many of the songs in this collection himself.
Playing with Dougie on this album are vocals, guitar, fiddle. Roy Ashby: drums (track 9). Martin Hadden: ... ...electric guitar (Track 9). Dougie Maclean plays guitar, fiddle and sings the vocals.

10.Caledonia Dougie MacLean I think this is the best-known song on this Cd about the longing for home and the call Caledonia has. “Let me tell you that I love you and I think about you all the time”The music is a traditional Scottish Celtic style,
Dougie has a very distinctive guitar style easily recognised and his voice is gentle and sweet. I really like it. I think its unlikely I will get to one of his concerts as he mostly plays America or Scotland he was in Perth Last weekend , Then back in America playing east Grinstead in December. I think Dougie Macleans music is timeless I was certainly lost in it this afternoon, I have seen this CD for sa;le ar £12.00, thanks for reading Mary
