Being the owner of many cream albums I looked forward to getting my hands on this one but I was left somewhat disappointed. This triple album is a real mixed bag, the first disc is good almost from beginning to end, the second disc has about 6 or 7 good tracks on it but the third disc they really should not have bothered with. The third disc gives you the feeling that they have ran out of ideas and good mixing tracks so they have just strung together some mediocre tunes with no real time spent on there mixing.
For those of you not familiar with cream albums it is music from the electric dance genre remixed by some of the top dj`s around. Disc one contains class tunes such as, Rise Up by Yves Larock, Don't Mess With My Man by Booty Luv, Ain't Nothing But A Heartache by the Freemasons, Real Love by Doc Da Funk and many many more. As you would expect from cream most of these are special remixed versions for the cream album.
Disc two has a few good tracks such as Passion by Gat Decor and Do You Love Me by Dominatorz but over all is pretty disappointing especially the fact that the mixing of these tracks is nothing special, certainly not to the standards I have come to expect from cream over the years.
Disc three is a total let down in my opinion, very unlike cream again. Most cream albums tend to have no fillers but the third disc of this album is almost full of fillers. It is almost certain that having listened to the third disc once I will not listen to it again.
The mixing and the excellent tracks on the first disc along with what's good about the second disc is probably enough to make buying this album worth while but with the ease of downloads these days I think most people will probably choose to download just the first two discs or perhaps even just the tracks they enjoy most.
Although the third disc really disappointed me I would still recommend this album to cream fans because when the mixing is good it`s awesome.
This album can be found in asda for £9.99 but will almost certainly cost more from a music store.
If you intend to download then I can let you know that the first disc is the more up tempo of the three with the second being a bit more chill out and as I have made clear the third is best forgotten.
To sum up.
True cream fans will still enjoy this album others may find it a bit disappointing. In my view there are definitely better electric dance albums out there right now so check the track listings carefully before buying!
I have said below for ciao purposes that I would recommend to potential buyers but as I have explained it would depend on what the individual buyer was looking for. It is very dificult to blanket recommend music.
Thanks for reading.
