Advantages: Well-crafted, unexplored song subjects Disadvantages: Old school fans may not approve
...to discover when he 'crosses over'. A lot of morals and questions raise their heads, and the growling interlude solo is a welcome break. Overall, a charming song that you just have to like.
10. 'Judas be my guide'
Another rollicking singalong 'hollered' and backed chorus, along the same lines as 'Chains of Misery', but faster paced, with magnificent drumming and vocal gymnastics from Dickinson. An uplifting monster.
11. 'Weekend Warrior'
At first, this sounds a bit cringeworthy, all shouty vocals and loud guitars, but after a few listens, this sinks in as a classic. Starting with a mellow, 'foreboding' mini-riff and bass drums, we kick in with scorching 'stabbing guitars', punctured rhythm, and hollered vocals, with Dickinson 'taking the mickey' out of the lifestyle of a youngster who misbehaves to be part of the 'gang', although he longs...

Advantages: Bon Jovi's best Disadvantages: Its from 1994 so none of their new hits
...I recently bought ‘Cross Road' the best of Bon Jovi and have to say that I am very impressed. After hearing bits of it on the sixth form CD player I thought it sounded good so decided I would buy it. I now know that the whole album is just as good as the bits I've heard before. The album does, of course, have a very rocky feel to it which as a Queen fan appealed to me. But what I really like is the guitar riffs of The wonder Richie Sambora as a guitar player myself. The album will definitely encourage me to buy more of the Bon Jovi albums (I am open to suggestions as to which is best bearing in my that my favourite songs on cross road include ‘Always' and the wonderful ‘ Someday I'll Be Saturday night'). If you don't currently own this album but like rock I strongly recommend you go out and get it....

Advantages: Now has extra disc. Released by Edsel Disadvantages: Remix disc is not much to write home about.
...Back in 1972, when this was first released, the reception was luke warm by the critics. The follow up album to "Electric Warrior" was obviously going to be a hard act to follow. But now, thirty-four (yes THIRTY-FOUR!!!) years later it has earned a place in Pop history.
This won't be to everyone's taste. Simple riffs, three chord progressions and simple lyrics do not appeal to everybody, but as T Rex albums go, it's not bad.
There are a couple of singles on here: "Metal Guru" A fine pop song with a driving guitar line and inane lyrics. Had all the teenies swooning on TOTP, with Marc sashaying about the stage with his feather boa, Les Paul in hand, pushing the boundaries further than anyone had done before. (Apart from Mr Bowie of course). Then there's "Telegram Sam". A grinding insistent little three chord riff with trite lyrics...
