Excellent soundtrack counterpart to an excellent movie. If you loved the tracks on the movie then get the album. The tracks compliment the feelings and mood in the movie with the theme tune 'Every You, Every Me' by Placebo... it's so gothic and dark in it's sound with a hint of isolation. Gorgeous.
The ending, when Kathryn's reign of terror collapses, is accentuated by The Verve's Bitter Sweet Symphony. Again: gorgeous.
Here's the playlist: 1. Every You, Every Me - Placebo (single mix) 2. Praise You - Fatboy Slim (radio edit) 3. Coffee And TV - Blur 4. Bedroom Dancing - Day One (first recording) 5. Colorblind - Counting Crows 6. Ordinary Life - Kristen Barry 7. Comin' Up From Behind - Marcy Playground 8. Secretly - Skunk Anansie 9. This Love - Craig Armstrong/Elizabeth Fraser 10. You Could Make A Killing - Aimee Mann 11. Addictive - Faithless 12. Trip On Love - Abra Moore 13. You Blew Me Off - Bare Jr. 14. Bitter Sweet Symphony - The Verve
The general mood of the album is pretty dark and mellow, which is great to unwind and chill to. You've got some depressing moods in it with 'Bitter Sweet Symphony', 'Colorblind' and 'Every You, Every Me'. And darkly powerful tunes from Marcy Playground and Skunk Anansie. 'This Love' is a good one by the talented Craig Armstrong.
My favourite tracks on it are Colorblind, Every You Every Me, and Bitter Sweet Symphony.
Advantages: Good mix of familiar and not so familiar quality tunes. Disadvantages: I'd love some clips from the film on it (Pulp Fiction style).
Great film, even better soundtrack. It's one of those compilations I love, that save you buying several albums. You get the best songs from loads of albums on here Placebo - Every me Every you, The verve Bittersweet Symphony, Colorblind - Counting Crows, Secretly - Skunk Anansie, Coffee and TV - Blur, and Praise you - Fatboy slim. But that's not it's only benefit, as Brit I found it introduced me to a lot of quality, young American artists, such ...

Cool Intentions Review ofCruel Intentions - Original Soundtrackby
mokee
Advantages: It'll blow your socks off Disadvantages: You can't stop listening to it
This is, quite simply, the best soundtrack I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. There is not a bad track on the album. In fact, I would have to say that there is not one song on the soundtrack that is not excellent in its own right, together they make for a formidable mixture which only makes brief visits to the CD rack before being restored to its rightful place in my CD player. This is most definitely the CD that has been played most in ... ...mixture of sublime melancholy in songs such as Colorblind by Counting Crowns, blended with just the right amount of slightly more upbeat tracks that are still just as deep and atmospheric, such as Comin' Up From Behind by Marcy Playground.
I bought this soundtrack because I found when I watched the film that the music moved me more than the story, and as the film itself was extremely good this is something of an achievement. This soundtrack has ...

Advantages: All my fav songs come from this film Disadvantages: its not a pop record so britney lovers turn away now!
Literally the best soundtrack that is on earth at this moment, i love it!
All of the songs fit the film so well and there isnt a track on the album you'll want to skip, with its fusion of brit rock, dance and beautiful ballads.
The ambience that this soundtrack creates is amazing, it puts you through so many emotions, such as angst and realisation during Placebo's 'Every You, Every Me' and love and sorrow as Counting Crows 'I am ready' pulls on ... ...like the song 'Bittersweet Symphony' by The Verve because it really suits the scene of Katherines Demise as she gets her cummupance!
Also Blurs 'Coffe and TV' is just a nice easy listening track that can make you feel different each time you hear it, the same with Skunk Anancies 'Secretly'. All of the songs on this soundtrack are meaningful, memorable and wonderful. You can see how much talent and passion is spread into each song by each individual ...

Sensuality in one CD Review ofCruel Intentions - Original Soundtrackby
divinekarma
Advantages: You'll never get tired of it Disadvantages: None
...the back-stabbing, treachery and jealousy, Cruel Intentions is actually a pretty sensual movie. And that's what the soundtrack is like - sensual, cool, contemporary.
Aside from the over-played "Praise You"by Fatboy Slim and "Bittersweet Symphony" by The Verve (which are great pieces of music, mind you!), the other tracks aren't the sort to command radio time due to their lack of mass appeal...and that's why I love them! There's the melancholic "Colour ... ...Crows!), the beautiful sensual voice of Craig Armstrong in "This Love", a soulful ballad "You can make a Killing" by Aimee Mann, the upbeat rhythms of Faithless with "Addictive"...
Why is this soundtrack great? Because it makes you feel young without feeling childish (think pop princesses), mature but not old, cool but not cold. But most of all, it's great because you'll listen to it over and over again, and get your money's worth! ...

...throughout. The whole soundtrack really does bring back feelings from the film and unlike other soundtracks all the songs are used in the film, not just added to fill the CD up. A must for not only Cruel Intentions fans, but anyone who appreciates really good music! Buy it now!! ...
