...This must surely go down as a landmark in the duran boys career, after the success of the eponymous first album it was assumed that the boys would disappear into oblivion, instead they started to take the world by storm with singles like hungry like the wolf, rio and the excellent save a prayer which shot the boys to worldwide fame, and should have made number one, the production is excellent and if you skip my own way, you have a flawless album that for 1982 stood alone in its field.... Advantages: The best of the New Romantics with some catchy 80's songs.
Disadvantages: Some of the later songs not quite as good as eariler stuff

...Duran Duran were part of the New Romantics music craze which swept the uk in the early 80's.This consisted of other bands like Adam and the Ants,Spandau ballet,Visage,Japan and ABC.The orginal line up of the band consisted of Simon le Bon (vocals) Roger Taylor( Drums) Andy Taylor ( guitar) John Taylor ( bass ) and Nick Rhodes(keyboards). The group hailed from Birmingham and stood out with their dress sense and style. Their first hit Planet Earth set the formula for their future success, stylish video mixed with bombastic lyrics created a heady pop mix. Greatest contains their hit singles from their first album Duran Duran though to the wedding ablum. Hits include Girls on film, hungry like the wolf, Rio,wild boys and ordinary world to name a few.They hold up surprsingly well with their catchy lyrics and Duran always were a classy pop... ...seguramente "The Pop Hits", aunque a Per Gessle le gusta más el nombre de "The PowerPop Hits" para este lanzamiento; dice su compañía que saldrá a la venta el próximo 24 de marzo. Para la promoción de este disco se puede escuchar el nuevo single en la página www.roxette.nl; este single se llama "Opportunity Nox". Si todo funciona bien es posible escuchar este single en las radios españolas a partir de finales de febrero. En la vida de este grupo, hace dos días, martes 28 de enero de 2003, recibieron una medalla por méritos nacionales e internacionales de manos del Rey de Suecia. Nada más de decir de este disco.
