...This is a movie I have so far watched 4 times! The CD is one of my favourites. This is the ultimate threat for Cuban music, and the influence Buena Vista had in terms of attracting more people to the Cuban music cannot be described. Beautifully shot, never boring, always moving, always real to the point of being a documentary, always lyric to the point of moving me to tears of commotion. The musicians depicted in the movie are living legends, are unique. The album is superb, and, once you have seen the movie, is the best way of calling up the images of the movie. Advantages: Beautiful, smooth Cuban music

...This album contains beautiful Cuban music, however, I wouldn’t recommend to everyone. The true target audience for this album are supposedly all those who love and appreciate original and calm Cuban music. Listening to their music makes me imagine I’m in Cuba in a bar or something like that. The music conveys a great feeling of freedom and relaxation. But perhaps, this is exactly what might annoy others. The music is fascinating and moving. Anyway, for those who appreciate this kind of music I would definitely also recommend to see the film!! This sort of documentary by Wim Wenders takes you back to Cuba to introduce the great singers and musicians who get together to form the Buena Vista Social Club. Every song which is also on the album is fully featured.... Read review

...This has to be one of my most played albums since I bought it 2 months ago. I listen to Chill FM on the internet and they had been playing this funky Cuban version of Coldplays Clocks a couple of times. I searched and searched to find out who had done it and after a week or so came up with this - Rhythms Del Mundo by the Buena Vista Social Club. "I knew it was them" I said to myself! Anyway, I bought it straight away just on the strength of that one track and was very pleased by all the other tracks on the Album. Not only have the Buena Vista Social Club given the Cuban treatment to Coldplay, but also to tracks by Sting, Arctic Monkeys, Jack Johnson, Maroon 5 and Kaiser Chiefs. Buena Vista's ability to revamp these modern favorites in such a funky Cuban style is excellent. Perfect evening music for entertaining friends. Its certainly... Read review
