Advantages: The opening is impressive, Christina Ricci provides a good performance. Disadvantages: The film is terrible, everything about it disappoints.
and what shall become of their future.
What starts out as an interesting concept for a horror film soon becomes tiresome, the film begins brilliantly and I thought that 'Cursed' would turn out to be an excellent choice; sadly this was not to be so and it is in fact just one huge disappointment. In the 90s (and stretching into 2000 with the last in the trilogy), the 'Scream' films were greatly effective in parodying the horror genre and yet still remaining scary. I thought that 'Cursed' would be similarly as impressive and yet at every turn it just seems to disappoint. It runs like a bad B-Movie, it seems so tacky and low budget and yet this monstrosity of a film actually cost a cool $38 million. All I can say of this is what a waste of money! No way did they need a budget as large as this to come up with 'Cursed', in fact I really wish they ...

Advantages: It's laughably bad Disadvantages: You'll stop laughing as soon as you remember you've paid to see it
left in Hollywood. It is neither scary nor funny, and is certainly not as clever as it thinks it is. It is let down by a poor script, lame direction, awful special effects and a total lack of suspense. If you want to watch 80s' style horror, go for the real thing and hire Sam Raimi's "Evil Dead". If you're an aspiring horror director, this is worth seeing just so you know how it shouldn't be done. But overall this is a film that will only appeal to Wes Craven completists or those who think "An American Werewolf in London" is too scary. You'll be cursing yourself if you spend money on this at the cinema. ...

Advantages: It's short, a few nice effects Disadvantages: Disjointed, lacks direction, no scares, watered down cut
know what the story was when all is said and done.
I'm not sure there was ever a good film waiting to get out with Cursed. They obviously stopped production when it was apparent there were severe problems and things needed to be salvaged. Needless to say the whole experience left Director Wes Craven pretty disillusioned with Dimension Films and Miramax. One the decision was made to water down the content you can see that anything decent the film had to offer was lost. The original adult orientated cut is now just a piece of suggestive gore. I'd like to say it has some good scares but unfortunately it doesn't. The werewolves are nicely done for the most part, it's too bad the characters suck on every level. The only decent moment comes when one of the wolves gives the finger.
Cursed is a complete waste of your time, energy and possibly ...

Album Notes
Formed by members of two disbanded Welsh outfits-- noise-rockers McCluskey and electro-punks Jarcrew-Future of the Left picks up where both those bands left off. The band's debut, CURSES, is full of surging, nervous, and fractured post-punk tendencies, following a line back to genre icons like Pere Ubu and the Pixies. With songs like "Real Men Hunt in Packs" and "Suddenly It's a Folk Song," it's clear that Future of the Left have a quirky, sometimes comic sensibility, but this is no cutesy indie band. Confrontation is the primary m.o., and at times (the ferocious "Plague of Onces"), the band verges into post-hardcore and screamo territory. They're quirky, no doubt, but it's the razor-sharp angles of the band's tunes and the jagged stab of their rhythms that makes CURSES immediately appealing.
