One of the most revved-up discs any label has tossed into the late-'90s swingsploitation ... more
boom,Swing It, Daddy-Osucceeds by making plain the link between jump blues and early rock&roll, which is what most of these 18 cuts essentially are. Some of the songs--Louis Jordan's "Choo Choo Ch' Boogie," Louis Prima's "5 Months, 2 Weeks, 2 Days"--will be familiar to casual fans, but most of them are cult faves that help make this an illuminating listen in addition to a hugely entertaining one.--Rickey Wright

Big Daddy. Yet another Adam Sandler film, or well worth a watch?
*********************History*********************
Adam Sandler was born in 1966, making him much older than I'd realised, I'd say he tends to look mid-thirties in his newer films.
Sandler is a well-known comic actor, with more than 30 films behind him. His first film, as far as I can find out, was Going Overboard back in 1989, meaning that his career has now spanned three decades, which I think is an achievement regardless of your feelings about him.
I say regardless of your feelings as I know from experience that he's a real Marmite man, some love him, others hate him. He's criticised for playing the same part time after time, but if it works then why not? His films are still huge draws for the public.
For a while I was one of the hate-him school, but once I found out ...

Ciao members have rated this review on average: very helpful Review of Big Daddy (DVD)
Advantages: so funny!!! Disadvantages: had to pay for it
This is my first film review so I will try and explain the film with out giving all the fantastic bits away! I realise that when you read a review and they tell you everything that happens then you end up thinking well sounds good but I know what happens now!! So therefore I will only talk about the overall story and some of the good bits so I don?t ruin it for you all!
I first bought the daddy day care DVD when my nephew saw a trailer for it, and being the sadistic little bugger that he is, he saw kids running riot and kicking adults therefore had to have it. Of course he had (coz I thought it looked cool too).
The film starts off with two family men (Eddie Murphy and Jeff Garlin) who work in the promotion and advertisement department. Which is very time consuming for them and therefore they don?t have as much to do with their ...
Advantages: I felt like I understood the feelings of at least two of the main characters. Disadvantages: A bit boring. Too much repetition in first half of book.
the main Daddy did quite well when forced to take on all of the day-to-day parenting, but there are also two co-starring Daddies in the story as well. I would expect any man who waded through this to think more than once before deliberately becoming a Daddy himself.
There seemed to be a lot of repetition of the way characters felt through the whole of the book, but especially the feelings of a mother who may not have had any children if no pressure had been put on her to conform. This repetition of emotions meant that I felt I knew the main characters quite well, but I prefer to get to know characters in a more interesting way.
In contrast to this repetition, I think it odd that the weddings and honeymoons included involved very little detail.
Another thing that the book lacked for me was any sort of sense of humour, expect ...
