The third album from the moody threesome is a change of direction for this talented band. Beautiful Freak And Electro Shock Blues were dark, sad and moving albums, all highly critically acclaimed. This one turns over a new leaf. I first listened to this, and thought it was quite repetetive. But as i listened to it more and more, and the songs grew on me, i then saw its brilliance. Whilst still fairly sad in places (Estate Sale, Selective Memory) there are a lot more chirpy tracks, such as I like Birds (imaginatively rhymed with turd!!) and the beautiful Jeannies Diary. This doesnt stop the run of fine albums from the eels, if anything it adds more to it than any other eels album did. A worthy buy, eels fan, or no eels fan, just for the great feeling u get listening to it (esp. Mr. E's Beautiful Blues)

Advantages: I would say the best Ee's album, very lively Disadvantages: The design of the CD is good, but cardboard. So unless you keep it in a vacuum it will get ropey
