After buying the other 2 albums by the Eels I wasn't too sure to chance buying this one or not. Then my boss at work said about how good this album was, I borrowed it for a few days and by the time I gave it back to her I had already ordered it online! I think that this is the Eel's best album release to date. All of the tracks are good, and none of the lyrics are too depressing either. The music is all up-beat and very catchy. Now I'll give you a quick track by track rundown followed by a rating out of 10: 1)Grace Kelly Blues. Starts with a kinda big band theme, very catchy tune and the lyrics are quite good too. A nice start to the album. 7. 2)Packing Blankets. Not quite as good as the first song, the lyrics are not as good, but musically it isn't too different to the 1st song. 6. 3)The Sound Of Fear. The tune is quite good on this one, and the lyrics are very good. 8. 4)I Like Birds. This is an OK track, nothing to write home about, a similar music style to the other tracks. 7. 5)Daisies Of The Galaxy. This is a slow paced song, musically and lyrically. Makes a nice break from the previous tracks. 7. 6)Flyswatter. I really like this song. The music changes at times from background to foreground. Lyrics are a little strange considering the title of the track! 8. 7)It's A Motherf*****. I think this track is brill, it's very slow and talks about feelings of love. 9. 8)Estate Sale. This track is nothing really, just quiet music for about a minute. I can't see that it helps the CD by having it on. 1. 9)Tiger In My Tank. I have to say this is my favourite track from the album. The music is very lively, and one of those ones that you just want to sing along to. 9. 10)A Daisy Through Concrete. This is ok, not bad but nothing too special. 6. 11)Jeannie's Diary. This is a good track, quite slow, but it works really well. The lyrics for this one make the most sense on all of the album, together with how good the music is, makes this a good one. 8. 12)Wooden Nickels. This is good. Starts slow and picks up a bit of pace. Lyrics and music are good on this. 7. 13)Something Is Sacred. This is OK. I don't know what it is about the track, but it just doesn't strike me as a really good song. 6. 14)Selective Memory. The first part of the track is good, it's very slow and the music matches the lyrics perfectly. After a gap there is another song, which is very up-beat and overall very good. 8. (2 quality songs)
