Like the music of its soundtrack, it may not appeal to everyone…yet it should rightly be recognized for the unique and flawless work that it undeniably is! Advantages: An individuality and style unlike others, superior orchestration and great lyrics Disadvantages: Very few people seem to have heard of them.
...Have you heard of Steely Dan? I have to ask this question of you, for if your answer is no, you are missing out on some of the finest musical talent ever. This album 'Alive In America', is very different from other albums, every performance has an individuality which really enhances the listening experience.
This music has a definite jazz influence, the orchestration is fantastic and complex. I must mention the drums on this album, they may not normally be an outstanding feature, but in this case all I can really say is WOW!
Some of their finest songs are included on this album, Reelin' in the Years, Babylon Sisters, Josie and Kid Charlemagne to name but four. My personal favourite being Babylon Sisters, quite a mellow song with very effective percussion, and great lyrics.

Advantages: An unusual, often maginficent exploration of the traditional and experimental Disadvantages: Occasionally too virtuoso
...minimalist but in a haunting way; a sublime introduction, which augurs well in every sense.
The title really says it all: Dancing! simply is that: dancing! Again the modern and the traditional meet and have enormous fun at the same time. The melody is apparently a traditional one and augmented by ululating didgeridoo (again, do not be scared); a thumping kick drum-esque beat that adds to the feel of dancing. There’s almost a little of authentic American southern music, perhaps inspired by the banjo and yet Wu Man’s Pipa sounds extraordinarily eastern. There is just such an overarching sense and sound of fun, you can hear all involved just having a fantastic time, working out the interconnecting instruments and sounds and weaving them together into a joyful and cohesive whole.
