The two main characters in this book are feisty, independent, survivor of an abusive upbringing - Millie Cameron and feisty, independent, survivor of an interfering sister - Flo Clancy. Even though they belong to different era's with Millie growing up in the late 20th century and Flo being around before, during and after WWII, their lives - in retrospect - follow very similar paths. Millie and Flo are related and at the beginning of the book we believethey are niece (Millie) and great-aunt (Flo) - though the truth turns out to be very different! When aunt Flo dies Millie is asked to sort through everything belonging to Flo at her basement flat in Toxteth, Liverpool. Alone In The Dark : Central Park mystery

Advantages: Great game overall
Disadvantages: In game controls a bit complex

Storyline : Set during 2008, the story continues with Edward Carnby, the main protagonist from the original game, looking for answers to strange supernatural and bizarre phenomenon while trying to survive in New York City's Central Park which is where the main plot is. The game story centers around rumors, allegations, and suspicious activity in tunnels found below the park. Throughout the game, Carnby will be assisted by Sarah Flores, a mouthy female art dealer, and Theophile Paddington, an elderly man who has knowledge about the weird happenings in Central Park, and an old friend of Carnby's. The main antagonist is another elderly man named Crowley. Gameplay : The gameplay in Alone In The Dark differs greatly from the previous games in the series. The Dark Forest of the Soul (In a Dark Wood - Marcel Moring)

Advantages: original, clever, meaninful, deep, occasionally funny
Disadvantages: gimmicky, demanding, pretentious

Throughout that night, throughout a town that became a peep-show and a nightmarish dream, from bar to bar, from the funfair to the electric bull, and into the woods that weave through the town and surround it, wanders Marcus Kolpa who has returned to find his lost first love, Jacob's daughter, Chaja. And so does wander Jacob, possibly dead or possibly alive, led by a mysterious figure, mystical and profane both; a pedlar calling himself the Jew of Assen.
