Advantages: New Jack Swing is strong Disadvantages: Inconsistent
“Dangerous” was the seventh solo release from the legend that is Michael Jackson. It dropped in 1991 and found that he would continue performing more work in the style of his classic material, as he blazed out some classic Pop joints, but the late singer would also go on to introduce more of the conscious songs in addition to the inclusion alternative influences, such as Hip Hop.

It dropped in 1991 and found that he would continue performing more work in the style of his classic material, as he blazed out some classic Pop joints, but the late singer would also go on to introduce more of the conscious songs in addition to the inclusion alternative influences, such as Hip Hop.
1. “Jam”
The album gets going with Michael laying down a funky jam to reintroduce himself into the game, after a far stretch away from it and you see that form this early stage yo hae him working alongside many producers, including (most notably) the Guy and BLACKstreet member Teddy Riley, who chooses to give MJ a bit of a New Jack Swing makeover.
**Four Stars**
2. “Why You Wanna Trip On Me”
With this you get the material which was found on the tune before it, spilling over onto here as you find that in it you have his iconic beats adapted to suit the new trends in the R&B world with them taking a much more up-beat New jack Swing style and having the song sung as if it was by one of Teddy’s groups at the time.
**Five Stars**
3. “In The Closet”
You get further progression from him as for this one you see that the Pop star moves even further into the Swingbeat material and delivers extremely well as he comes with a style which retains all of what people enjoy most of him music and it has him progressing things as his adlibs sound more and more like beatboxing and he even has a guest rap to show him fully exploring this field.
**Five Stars**
4. “She Drives Me Wild”
Here you have the beats pounding away even more from him in what can be described as a more contemporary “Billie Jean” style and so those who liked such a classic as that one will be able to feel comforted as he moves on his style to a fair degree and shows just how well he can get down to a track which was composed solely by Teddy and himself.
**Four Stars**
5. “Remember The Time”
When it comes to Michael and New Jack Swing, this is the most popular song which was done in this style and it has him performing this better than at any other time with him showing the strength of his vocals at the same time that he can work in a much more funky style and get everyone moving again.
**Five Stars**
6. “Can’t Let Her Get Away”
This one has Michael performing in what I have to call the most authentic-sounding New Jack Swing material as although the others are good, what you get from this, as you have him working off heavy Hip Hop beats of the time, he comes with a fly joint which you could actually hav heard from any of the popular acts from this period.
**Five Stars**
7. “Heal The World”
Following lots of experimentation, Michael shows that “Man In The Mirror” wasn’t a one-off track form him and so chooses to do one which has him calming done the R&B in order to get into one where he sings a ballad about how many things in the world need putting right, and he needs everyone’s support in order to carry it through. I personally idn’t like the song, but I can see the appeal.
**Two Stars**
8. “Black Or White”
This one came as the first single from the artist on this record and so made a massive impact as the apparent transformation that the artist had gone through once he released with “Bad” was going even further here and with it he chose to come with a track which hits back at racism as he returned looking whiter than ever before. He was joined by the then-Guns N’ Roses lead guitarist, Slash and he also gets some more raps (from Bill Bottrell) too.
**Four Stars**
9. “Who Is It”
He is seen to bring back what was heard early on in the album back for this one, and I thought that it was quite significant as it was the first up to this point which has clear Hip Hop influences, but has it entirely composed by the singer. He had to be the one behind the writing here as it has him dealing with rumours which had plagued his personal life.
**Four Stars**
10. “Give In To Me”
I felt that with this song you got another dip in the quality of things as you have him performing a tune which you have to liken to “Dirty Diana” from his “Bad” album, where it had him singing in a Rock Ballad style. He does just this here with Slash on his side once more, but in this case, I just wasn’t feeling it as it wasn’t my thing.
**Two Stars**
11. “Will You Be There”
Here you have another which has Michael behind it all and I felt that for this one it was seen that he didn’t really do all that well with it as he attempts something quite similar to what you get in “Heal The World” as he drops it down to minimal production as appears to make full use of his voice too express this, but really it did nothing for me at all.
**Three Stars**
12. “Keep The Faith”
By this point in the album, it is as if what was found with all the early songs on the album is completely lost and that he won’t return to it. I felt that with this in mind, it really put me off and prevented me from really taking that much notice of this one. It isn’t a very memorable one, but I can’t say it is weak either as he brings a nice ballad here.
**Three Stars**
13. “Gone Too Soon”
When the context is taken into account, this is a highly emotive song from Michael and one which you can’t dismiss, even if you don’t tend to get into this much more gentle material from him as here he is seen to sing in dedication to a young AIDS sufferer it has him coming with a powerful vocal performance and making sure it made the most out of the well-written song.
**Four Stars**
14. “Dangerous”
The album ends with the titular track from the album, with ti you have more from Teddy Riley and so it means that at last you get more up-tempo stuff from MJ, and he is seen to get down to a freaky one to leave the album on a high as he shows that he fits right in with the New Jack Swing seen as the most popular performers of this subgenre.
**Four Stars**
Personally, I saw this album as a bit of a step down from the artist as you see that in you you have the singer losing the momentum which “Off The Wall” created as he gets to the point where he is forced to make significant changes in his music in order to stay remain current and although to some degree it is done well, it is highly inconsistent to the point where I doubt that anyone could actually say that enjoy each of the songs here.
Advantages: Full of great tracks, makes you want to dance Disadvantages: one bad track

Dangerous – Now all my MJ mates really like this song but it doesn’t really do anything for me. Another song about a girl however this one suggests that not all women are good news and that some may in fact be ‘dangerous’. The beat is ok but its quite hard to get your groove on to. Rating **

...all time on it. A Dangerous tour was also done at this time but I was too young to go and no one would take me (That’s why in July 1997 I just HAD to go). If I remember correctly it cost me about £12.99 but I’m sure that today you could get it for much cheaper. The picture on the front of the CD is very busy! It is a mixture of colour and pictures. Advantages: Great album, great price. Disadvantages: None
In my opinion this is the second best album my Michael Jackson, only beaten by Thriller which I think will always be my favourite! I am going to do a small review of each song to give you an idea of the album as whole. Jam: This is the opening song to the album and has lots of the typical Michael Jackson beats, very funky and upbeat definitely one that you can dance to and a great opener to the album. 8/10 Why You Wanna Trip On Me: This has some ... ...it. Also very upbeat like a lot of Michael's songs. The lyrics are talking about drug addicition. 7/10 In The Closet: I believe that this song contains spoken lyrics from Naomi Campbell. The lyrics talk about having a secret thats kept in the closet. It begins very calm and slow and then breaks in to the typical Michael Jackson sound. Very funky, lots of oohs and ahhs and the sound of breaking glass etc. 7/10 She Drives Me Wild: Great beginning, ...

Advantages: Another great collection from a time when the music was really all that mattered Disadvantages: Below par on the odd track
Another Michael review? Yes, I am on a roll so I thought that I would keep going whilst I have the motivation to revisit some of his material. This time it is the 1991 release 'Dangerous', which in my eyes was release just before he started to act unacceptably in the eyes of the media and also the watching public. It was a time when the emphasis was on his music and not on his personal life. The cover of the album is based around a pair of eyes which ... ...gate with lots of animals surrounding the centrepiece.
The opening track is 'Jam'. A funky dance song which opens to the sound of breaking glass. Once the song gets going (the vocals take a while to kick in over the background singers), the influence of R&B supremo Teddy Riley is unmistakable. There is a rap section performed by Heavy D (Remember Heavy D & The Boyz with Now That We've Found Love in the early 90's?). It is a good strong start to ...

Advantages: Good amount of tracks, Good Spread of Tracks, Compliment to Music Disadvantages: Only Bad publicity surrounds this masterpiece
Yet another album by Michael Jackson to hit number one, 'Dangerous' is Michael Jackson's fourth solo album and a huge step in a different direction from his earlier titles such as 'Thriller' and 'Bad'. It is such a shame that the album that was produced in 1991 is only encircled in bad publicity - the beginning of his child molestation accusations. I would like to at this point remind everyone, that we do not buy this geniouses life, we buy his music, ... ...review on. The musical phenominan that is Michael Jackson.
Michael's album 'Dangerous' tries to move on to something new. It achieves this well, but with encircing accusations it was not the most popular of his albums, i like to call it his "lost" album. The music on the album is also refreshinly different to the tracks he had produced before but still had the elements to a perfect Michael Jackson track.
The album although moving into a different ...

effects as well.
Dangerous appeared late in 1991 and was preceded by an extended video for its leadoff single, "Black or White." Topping the charts for seven weeks, "Black or White" became Jackson's biggest hit since "Billie Jean." Dangerous, like Thriller and Bad, was the source of seven more hit singles. In addition to "Black or White," they included "Remember the Time" (which reched number 3 in the charts), "In the Closet" (which reached number 6 in the charts) and "Will You Be There" (which reached number 7 in the charts).

Advantages: Funky, Cool, Good mix - Awesome! Disadvantages: The remastered album doesnt have any extras
MichaelJackson's Dangerous was released in 1991, following the worldwide bestseller album BAD. It had to do a lot to out do its predecessor, and at the same time progress Jackson from the eighties to the nineties, proving that he was a transdescant artist and became more of an icon.
Dangerous is an awesome album, no doubts about it at all, but the so called "remastered" version lacks anything new. The other special edition remastered albums contained interviews and unreleased material. This only has a limited edition sleeve (which isnt really limited) and a new booklet inside with some different photos. This isnt that good.
For the album itself though, nothing more could be asked for. The album opens up with Jam, one of my personal favourites and creates the right kind of mood and tempo for the rest of the album to come ...

good friends". It should have been a single, I think.
6. Another Part Of Me
One of the earliest songs written for "Bad", this featured on the 1985 Disney film "Captain Eo" which was only shown at their theme parks. Strangely, it was one of the last songs to be released on single from "Bad".
7. Man In The Mirror
A typical MichaelJackson song, this features some of his best vocals and an astounding choir. This was written by Siedah Garrett and Glen Ballard but the vocals all come from MJ's heart. "We gotta get it right, while we've got the time".
8. I Just Can't Stop Loving You
A ballad with Siedah Garett, this was the first single to be released from this album. It's a simple plain love song with a spoken intro and was quite a low key start to the whole "Bad" period. Nobody could have guessed from this fairly ...

Principally recorded at Record One Studios & Larrabee Studios, Los Angeles, California. Originally released on Epic/Sony (45400). Digitally remastered by Bernie Grundman (Bernie Grundman Mastering, Los Angeles, California). After a lengthy gap of nearly five years, Jackson had to pull something out of the bag. BAD was, after all, a difficult act to follow, and the press were trying to prove he was bonkers. This was a pretty decent attempt and fell in with the hard dance beat of the early 90s. "Heal The World" was much like the old melodic Jackson, and it became a major hit. "Black Or White" was the best of the rest, a well-constructed song in which he attempted to repeat "Ebony And Ivory" in the context of 90s dance music.
