Album Notes: Hailing half from New York City and half from the Netherlands, Das Oath are widely seen as the saviors of modern hardcore. Without a scintilla of metal or emo, the quartet's furiously spasmodic guitars and feral vocals--while sounding nothing like 1980s hardcore--could only be construed as a modern take on the genre. Not to be confused with their self-titled debut full-length, this DAS OATH is a mini-LP of all new material. It's also available on CD.

...I was introduced to the music of Krishna Das by my wife. And God bless her for that, says I! For Krishna Das is well, he just IS.
Live on Earth is a great introduction to the music of Krishna Das. Krishna Das is an American by birth, and a Hindu. By conviction.
His music is a wonderful exploration and celebration of his faith, that of the Hindu.
To listen to the music of Krishna Das is to invite a very special experience into one's very soul.

Advantages: an excellent album Disadvantages: what?!! none
...While I do only have Define The Great Line, The Changing Of Times, and They're Only Chasing Safety; I would say this is probably the most varied of their albums. While it is mainly modern death/heavy metal stuff, it also has some emotional choir-type melodies, and the retro-ish 80's Song.
The main highlights of this album for me would be Down, Set, Go; which has an epic motion to it, combining screaming with normal singing for a great effect, and The 80's Song, which left me speechless with its ability to sound retro and modern simultaneously.
The general sound of this album is a powerful and hypnotic constant blast, occasionally stopping to let you come to terms with the awesome music you're listening to. Other UnderOATH albums, while not exactly linear, seem so next to this varied body of work....

Advantages: Great main theme Disadvantages: The rest of the album disappoints
...The music from the excellent television series/film Das Boot (by Klaus Doldinger) stuck in my head from the first time I heard it, something like 15 years ago. I was very pleased to find a copy of this soundtrack in a second hand CD shop a couple of months ago.
The main theme is excellent, and will stick in your mind for a long time, though it is actually a very simple tune. Sadly, the rest of the music does not live up to this standard - the original television series was very long, and I would have thought that the amount of music would have been enough to fill a CD with just the best bits. None of the music is actually bad, and it certainly conveys the monotony and fear of the voyage, but it doesn't really stand up to repeated listening....
