Dawson's creek, a drama series about 5 teenagers (6 till Andie left, sob..sob) has an amazing soundtrack. While watching I always seem to find myself thinking how perfectly the songs were chosen to match each scene and also how much I would love to have some of the songs on Cd so I could sing along with them. Now I can and so can you, with Dawsons Creek volume 1 and 2 out to by in most good entertainment shops such as Virgin and HMV and they only costs around £10.99 each.
Both album covers have a picture of the four main cast members on the front, which if your a Dawson's Creek fan will attract you straight away.
I dont own volume 1 so I cant give a review on that but I am the proud owner of volume 2. Volume 2 varies through out the world but us lucky ones in the UK have the most songs on our version. There are 19 songs, with the first 13 appearing on all other albums.
1) I think I'm in love with you - Jessica Simpson 2) Crazy for this girl - Evan and Jaron 3) Respect - Train 4) I'm gonna make you love me - The Jayhwaks 5) Givin' up on you - Lara Fabian 6) Superman - Five for Fighting 7) If i am (Radio edit) - Nine days. 8) Never saw blue like that - Shawn Colven 9) I think God can explain (Radio version) - Splender 10) Broken boy - Michal 11) Just Another - Pete Yorn 12) Show me heaven - Jessica Andrews 13) Daydream believer - Mary Beth Maziarz 14) Watching you sleep (Radio edit) - Straw 15) Dancing in the moonlight - Toploader 16) From now on - Roachford 17) Heaven by your side - A1 18) Sweet suburban sky - Paddy Casey 19) Prayer - Dara
As you can see there are way to many songs to give you a quick review of them all so i've decided to pick a few (mostly my favourites) to give you an idea whats on the album.
Jessica Simpsons, I think I'm in love with you kick starts the album. To be honest this is one of my least favourites and it is so different from the soft rock and ballads on the album. It is almost a pop song. However this is still a great song and Jessicas voice is amazing.
I'm gonna make you love me by the Jayhwaks is amazing this is one of my favourite songs from the album. It is a soft rock beat and makes you think that you can make whoever want love you. I remember when my boyfriend and I were just friends, I realised that I had fallen for him and after a drunken snog the next morning he said that we shouldn’t have kissed and that he didn’t want to be with me. After a quick sob I listen to this song and went out to make him love me. Now we've been together for almost 2 years.
Five for Fightings Superman is amazing my boyfriend like this song so much he went out and bought their album. It's great to listen to when you've failed something, because it makes you realise that everyone’s human and everyone cant be expected to be able to do everything, even superman. Not only does it make you feel great but it has a great beat and the lead vocalists voice is very unuasual, but it makes the song more interesting to listen to.
My favourite song in the whole world is also on this album. A cover of the Monkies Day Dream Believer by Mary Marziarz is amazing. Its a lot slower than the monkies version and the words are slightly different, I think the Monkies's is better but personally i prefer this version.
Dancing in the Moonlight by Toploader is one that everyones heard before. Begining with amazing keyboarding this song just makes you want to get up and dance around your living room.
Finally I have to tell you about Sweet Suburban Sky by Paddy Casey. I love this song, its very mellow and slow, it isnt very instrumental, just a bit of acoustic guitar every now and then. I cant remember when this song was used in the series but a tenner bet it was during a very emotional moment, possibly a sad moment.
Aren't you glad I didnt write about every song on the album? I havent got much left to say just that if your a fan of Dawson's I'm sure you'll like this soundtrack. For the rest of you who dont watch it (???) if you like your soft rock and ballads then I'm positive that you'll like this album, so go out and buy it NOW!

Crazy for that track Review ofDawson's Creek Vol.1 - Various Artistsby

Advantages: Great second track, worth a listen at least Disadvantages: Some very poor songs, painful track 13
Personally, not being a real avid fan of the old Dawsons Creek myself i cant really comment on the show much but there are some very moving scenes that require the "slushiest" soft rock ballards. This is generally what you should expect to find on this album! I also bought only the second volume, i cannot comment on the 1st volume!
I bought this album purley for the second song on the album; Evan and Jaron, Crazy For This Girl. You may have heard ... ...but couldnt find it anywhere and i was keener on buying this compilation rather than the Evan and Jaron album.
The album itself has been noted at around the £11 version in places like the virgin megastore. I however seem to be one of the lucky ones. On a trip to a place called, Mcarthur Glen, a retail, outlet village near mansfield i found it at a price of just £7.99 in a shop called XS. You may find that i am lucky at this price but, i seem to ...

O.K. I will admit that I am not a great fan of soundtracks - my experience has always been that they have a few really good songs on them and the rest are average, so generally I try to stay away from them.
However, that was until my friend bought me Dawsons Creek Volume 2. I had watched Dawsons Creek on and off, but was not a great fan until now.
The album contains:
1. I Think I'm In Love - Jessica Simpson
2. Crazy For This Girl - Evan And Jaron
... ...Me - Jayhawks
5. Giving Up On You - Lara Fabian
6. Superman - Five For Fighting
7. If I Am - Nine Days
8. I Never Saw Blue Like That - Shawn Colvin
9. I Think God Can Explain - Splendor
10. Teenage Dirtbag - Wheatus
11. Broken Boy - Michal
12. Just Another Girl - Pete Yorn
13. Show Me Heaven - Jessica Andrews
14. Daydream Believer - Mary Beth Maziarz
and my version includes three bonus tracks so I cannot say that these will be on all copies:

Advantages: great, thoughtful music Disadvantages:
Dawson’s creek fan? Or mellow music fan? If you’ve watched Dawson’s Creek you’ll be familiar with the sort of music played on there. My sort of music, though not everyone’s cup of tea. Actually I like a range of music, but this still remains my favourite soundtrack.
Including songs such as”Kiss Me” by sixpence none the richer, B*witched’s “Blame it on the weatherman”, and the current series’ beautiful opening song “I don’t want to wait” by Paula ...

Advantages: Great artists, variety of styles. Disadvantages: It should be a double CD it's so good!
...chill out to - the Dawson's Creek soundtracks are perfect.
The series 1 soundtrack contains great songs from Sixpence None the Richer, Jessica Simpson and Shawn Mullins amongst 13 others. While Volume 2 is slightly longer with 19 tracks. The highlights being Evan and Jaron's "Crazy for this Girl" and Five For Fighting's popular single "Superman."
I love these albums so much because I am a fan of the show and the lyrics and music seem to sum up ... ...inlays are good and informative. You can look at stills from the show and images of the characters or learn the lyrics to the songs played in the background of the episodes.
These are two of the albums that I think you will find yourself listening to over and over again and if not - well hey, this is only my opinion. ...
