De Glory Road (Ballads & Songs From Films & Operetta 1931-1936) - Lawrence Tibbett

Advantages: All of bon jovi's great hits in one.
Disadvantages: can't think of any, been thinking a little while too!!

...When I first saw the bon jovi cross road cd i was about 7 years old and thought it was just any other cd lying around my brothers bedroom. I never listened to it until I was about 13 or 14. However, once I realised what it was I was listening to I played it countless times since! It has their smash hit number 1 ''Livin' on a Prayer'' which almost anyone on the street would recognise if you were to play it on a duke box in any pub across the country. It also has another big ballad of theirs ''Wanted dead or Alive''. This has one of the most famous introductions and is one of my personal favourite riffs of all time. Its easy to play yes, but it sounds great! It almost sounds like two cowboys in the west are going out back to back to have a duel to decide over something quite serious. Advantages: Scottish, celtic niche, very pleasant

...listening and you can picture before you the war in the desert sands of the Middle East. Don`t blame me if you shit yourself, `cos it sure feels like you`re there. This stands out a bit from the rest because of it's heavy nature and for being a bit different A listeners rating: 4 out of 5 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Will We Be Again Takes a lean to the other side of things now by bringing the pace right back down and "Will We Be Again" is a good old sweet as honey ballad. For the most part the vocals are laid down to a piano melody but in the chorus there is the very subtle use of electric guitar to give it that slightly more intensely passionate feel. ...of two tracks on the album that previously hasn't appeared on a Bon Jovi album before, or after. 8/10 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ALWAYS This is the other song not to be on another album, and it is a song that has one helluva story with it. It was originally written for a film 'Romeo's Bleeding,' hense the initial lyrics 'This Romeo is bleeding, But you can't see his blood.' But after Jon saw the preview to the film he decided that he would like to keep this ballad to himself. It is a song that has been seen of as a sincere love story about how 'Romeo' is trying to win back his Juliet. But the way that the song was initially written is from the eyes of a stalker. How this stalker hopes that his perserverence will win... Read review
