DEAD AIR, BAD SMELL...

A copy of ?Dead Air? had been on my ?heavy hints for Christmas? list for weeks before the event ? you know the sort of thing: deep sighing in bookshops, monologues espousing the wonders of Iain Banks? writing skills at great length over dinner. So I was anything but shocked to discover the crisp new hardback twinkling at me from under the tree on Christmas morning. Banks is an unusual writer, he aims to write one book each year, in turn something for a ?mainstream? audience followed the next year by a science fiction work. Dead Air- Iain Banks

Advantages: New Iain Banks!!!
Disadvantages: not his best

I started reading Banks' work about 7 years ago, and have enjoyed all the books I've read so far. So, when I saw "Dead Air" on the shelf I had to buy it straight away. The story is centralised around Ken Nott, a scottish "Shock Jock" working for a commercial radio station in London. He is in a long(ish) term relationship, but can't resist having the odd one night stand. Being notoriously opinionated and through sleeping around he manages to get on the wrong side of a number of people, including a far right political group, religious groups and some of his close friends. Soon odd things begin to happen to Nott, but as he has upset so many people he can't be quite sure who it behind them. The story takes twists and turns so you when you think you have an idea who it is, it is instantly changed. The story itself is quite average ...

On the straight Duplo rails

Duplo train straight rails. If your child has a basic duplo train set, or you want to create one for them then you might want to buy the set of straight rails to expand it. This pack2734 contains 6 pieces. It costs £4.99p from the Lego shop http://shop.lego.com/product/?p=2734&LangId=20 57&ShipTo=UK. It is also available at other toy shops and toy departments for around the same price. Basically this set is just the straight train track pieces you will need to buy curved pieces too if you wish to make a circuit and you will need to buy a train to run on it too.
