Death Magnetic - Metallica
As many of their early fans would agree, Danish-Californian quartet Metallica seemed to ... more

Advantages: Broken, Beat and Scarred, All Nightmare Long and The Judas Kiss. Disadvantages: None!
...Simply put, Metallica are back and they are bringing the heavy with them. After what was rather shaky ground with 2003's St Anger, the biggest metal band in the world return to form with this gem.
The album is filled with epic tracks, from the beautiful single, The Day That Never Comes, through the made-for-live-shows Broken, Beat and Scarred, all the way to the powerful monster of a track, All Nightmare Long.
The whole album drove this Metallica fan into a mosh-pit frenzy, especially after listening to the instant classic, The Judas Kiss, a song that is sure to rival set mainstays like Enter Sandman for their spot in a live show.
The simple, yet thought provoking album cover sums up the theme of the album entirely, with most tracks taking a dark, death based theme.
Personal favourite tracks include Broken, Beat and Scarred, All...

Advantages: A return to form, but with better production Disadvantages: None
...did I love it? I need many listens to any album before I can decide if it is a great album, and this was no exception, but suffice to say it is a great album. Fans of early Metallica can not fail to be pleased with this, it truly is a great.
So? what are Metallica? They are a thrash metal, speed metal or whatever the term is these days, metal band. They play their music uncompromisingly fast and loud, with lots of heavy drumming and thundering bass lines and gritty guitars and meandering solos. Since 'Black' album they mellowed a bit? but not any more. This number one selling album, which topped the charts just about everywhere is true grit.
The band:
James Hetfield: Lead vocals, Guitar
Lars Ulrich: Drums
Kirk Hammett: Lead Guitar
Robert Trujillo: Bass Guitar
