Advantages: Nothing too intricate, just pure metal riffery! Disadvantages: Viking imagery is not for everyone.
...our souls, and stole our right
All for the words of mild-mannered man
You listened to mild-mannered god
And put your faith in deceitful words
Your powertrip was paid by blood
In kidness' name you spilled our blood
I refuse to submit
To the god you say is kind"
Also humbling is the fact that these words were written by someone for whom English is a second language. The rhymes may be simple, but they are superbly effective.
Track by track guide:
1. Death in Fire - An explosive opening track. No instrumental scene-setters for Amon Amarth, just an all-out attack of twin-guitars and drumming excellence. Just try not to bang your head! This song is about preparing for war!
2. For the Stabwoulds in our Backs - A tale of revenge against the people who have wronged the Viking's kind. I will single out the drumming here, because...

Advantages: The same as the original album but this version has added tracks Disadvantages: It is not the original/1st edition
...Shakira has done it again, this is a fantastic album which is trully full of emotions and listening to the tracks themselves takes you though a rollercoaster of real emotions as Shakira seems to have that rare ability to draw you in and feel the emotion she is portraying in any given song on this album, with the added advantage of extra songs that were not present on the first album edition, from the hit single "Hips don't lie" where it gives you a pure good upbeat feeling to the next hits "Illegal" where you feel the true sadness of her heart as she sings about betrayal and deceit it just pulls at your heart strings, and then you have "Don't bother" it is kind of like the new "I will survive" song. This whole album sings to your heart and shows the true talent that the majority of singers and bands lack now-a-days which is the talent...

Advantages: The Almighty at their best Disadvantages: Just one or two weaker tracks
...why bands put so much effort into writing songs, then refuse to share them with everybody else. Oh well, at least I've got that off my chest, as that bloke in "Alien" said.
"The Unreal Thing", "Jonestown Mind" ("I got masturbation and cable TV" - he's easily pleased), "Move Right In" and "Crank & Deceit" continue in a similar vein of gruffness and crunchiness, before "United State of Apathy" treats us to the sound of an amazing lady who recites the names of all fifty-three American states in about ten seconds. The song isn't bad either.
"Welcome To Defiance" is another standout, full of attitude and er, defiance, although the remaining tracks - "Way Beyond Belief", "Crackdown", "Sorry For Nothing" and "Cheat" begin to sound just a little repetitious. But this is still a cracking album which might well prove to be the peak of the Almighty...
