Released in 1994, Definitely Maybe stormed the UK charts and slapped the blue side of Manchester all over our faces. We were confronted by two brothers who from nowhere demonstrated what an attitude problem is all about.
The original line up of Oasis gave us the Beatles, Rock, and bad fashion sense all rolled into catchy 5-minute tunes that would propel them to the front line of Brit Pop.

The CD sleeve shows the band members in interesting poses, demonstrating that they are not just musicians. But a bunch of working class wannabies who have scored that big six-album deal which all-budding musicians dream about. If your disappointed that the lyrics are not contained in the sleeve, don’t panic, the songs are simple and easy to remember.
The album has now been thrown on to the pile of classics that all music fans must have in their music collection. And for the fast majority of us, this statement is true.
Songs such as Rock ‘n’ Roll Star and Cigarettes & Alcohol have gone down in history as all time greats. Even today, no Oasis gig is complete without these tunes belted out with such spirit and effort that the crowd are taken back to when two brothers (namely Liam) demonstrated how well (all publicity is good publicity) a bad attitude and the press mixed.
Other great tunes such as Live Forever and Slide Away are the sort you are happy to listen to again and again. Also the likes of Up In The Sky and Digsy’s Dinner are worthy tunes with happy beats that great to listen to when playing the local pubs duke-box. And to end the album, Married With Children calms you down with the thought that not rock is load guitars and drum beats.
This album is a must for all music fans, and the sort that your grandchildren will be buying in years to come when the 1990’s becomes cool again.
