Advantages: a worthwhile buy, as good as the last cd Disadvantages: same style of music (not much of a disadvantage!)
...Very much so.
You will definitely still recognise this as the Franz Ferdinand you knew, but there has been plenty of expanding, in simple but gorgeous Technicolor. It is energetic, nostalgic, evil, fresh, with plenty of tempo changes, mood changes (but the negative end does not leave you unhappy) and with a nice lace-like edge of quick backwards message in the end.
Lovely. And they've been listening a lot to George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass", but I myself can hear plenty of Beatles (of the older end), Kinks (the song "Fade Together") and even DelShannon (at "Walk Away", which is actually also the name of one of the last songs Mr Shannon ever made, and that one's not bad either).
My favorite songs, besides those mentioned already, are "The Fallen" (those 'la la's!), the single "Do You Want To" (hadn't actually heard it before...

Advantages: Very reasonable, feel good factor Disadvantages: Not the most well know Rock love songs of the era
...The album of golden oldies!
This album has a real feel good factor about it - whether you are my grandmothers age or mine. I bought this album as it was being sold very reasonably and thought why not, but I am really glad I did. Whether you are having a romantic night in or doing the washing up on a Sunday it is a good addition to your record collection - but put it on and sing to your hearts content.
Please see track breakdown below.
The Drifters - Save The Last Dance for Me
Bobby Vee - More Than I Can Say
The Dixie Cups - Chapel Of Love
The Shirelles - Dedicated To The One I Love
The Platters - Only You (And You Alone)

Advantages: Great music, ethical purpose Disadvantages: none
...a one off and the only mistake you could make is to expect to hear regular Buena Vista on this CD.
Not only is it great music but after reading the insert I realized a minimum of £2 from each sale goes to Artists Project Earth, a charity for natural disaster relief and climate change awareness programmes. The CD packaging is apparently carbon neutral - being made from some kind of potato starch plastic - and the booklet insert contains some very inspirational words and helpful tips from famous ecologists such as George Monbiot and Al Gore.
Its a shame, haven't really heard this record being pushed very much which surprises me as the music is great and it certainly has a good cause. This CD is a fast favorite and is a must have for any definitive music collection....
