Definitive Collection, The - Watersons (The)

Advantages: Very good first half.
Disadvantages: Bad second half.

...A-Ha will probably always be remembered mostly for their hit single in the 80's ' Take On Me' and the video that accompanied it, which featured groundbreaking animation at the time. But there was always a lot more to a-ha then this, as shown on this greatest hits collection. While there is that excellent hit, there are also other notable hits, including 'Hunting High And Low', 'The Sun Always Shines on TV' and 'The Living Daylights', which all have a great melancholic quality to them which is echoed in the sound of bands around today like Coldplay and Keane, who have both stated that they are huge fans of a-ha. And rightfully so, a-ha have a knack for writing excellent pop songs, which is showed beautifully on the album 'Hunting High And Low'. But this isn't that album. Advantages: A brilliant Roadtrip Album
Disadvantages: You may not want to get to your destination

...You can always tell a good album by the frequency that you play it. The Definitive Blues Brothers Collection, I keep in my car, ensuring that on my frequent long journey's I'll have something that nearly every passenger, no matter their musical tastes can sing along to and enjoy. Not only is it a definitive collection of classic blues as sung by Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi (as well as many of the greats and Legends of Blues, Soul and Mow town), it's also a definitive classic that will have you singing along to "Minnie the Moocher", tapping the steering wheel to "Jail house Rock" and bringing back fond memories of both great films. Well worth the money, and a great album to drive to.... Read review

Advantages: 2 CDs - bought it cheap from ebay - lots of songs
Disadvantages: had most of the songs anyway!

...This is a 2 CD album, i bought it dead cheap on ebay (about £3) - it's prob loads more expensive in the shops!!.. features loads of artists and songs - i'll go through as much of them as i can!!!.. Ok - CD 1.. First there is 'Off The Wall - Michael Jackson' - i like MJ so i think this is a good choice of song.. 'I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me) - Michael, George & Aretha Franklin' - was a bit surprised about this song being on an RnB collection - even though Aretha is very soul/RnB - i would not have put this song in an RnB collection & plus i dont particularly think this is a very good song anyway (sorry any G Micheal fans!).. then we have 'Crazy In Love (no rap version) - Beyonce' - i absolutely hate this song now! it's been heard and played way too much and doesnt deserve to be on this album! im sure it is already...
