Advantages: So nice to read, children love it Disadvantages: Very short, so not practical if you want a long story for your child
Wonderful.
Lynley Dodd has written many books for children. The rhyming makes for good interesting reading, and the stories are good, too. This one tells of Scraface Claw getting stuck up a tree, and all the dogs hearing the noise and coming to see what's going on. And, simply, upon rescue, they all go back again.
It's so simple that it must take a while to write. Her style of writing is pleasant, and I was surprised to say that it actually held my attention as well as my son's, to the extent that each time I read him a story, I tend to reach for a Lynley Dodd book before most others. At the moment, Caterwaul Caper is flavour of the month, and I am sure when she writes another one, we'll be buying it with as much anticipation as our son!!! ...
Advantages: Illustrations, characters, rhymes Disadvantages: Nothing particularly special

What I like about this book, and indeed all the other books, is the simplicity and the appeal of the rhyming verse Dodd uses. There is nothing particularly special, but they're really relaxing books to read, and cleverly created. HM, Sit is a nice one in the series, with the kids able to ...
Advantages: Great rhyming text and fab illustrations. Very popular amongst children Disadvantages: None

I'm a big fan of Lynley Dodd books, some of you who have read my reviews will realise that by now and this book is just as good as the others.

~ The Story ~
This is a brilliant tale, told in rhyme.
It begins with a description of Scarface Claw, he's the boldest, bravest and fiercest of cats and there's nothing that frightens him or is there?
The following are excerpts from the book to demonstrate the rhythmn and language used:
* Is he frightened of thunderstorms? Certainly not.
* Is he scared of the dark? Not a jittery jot.
* Is he frightened of dogs when they lollop and leap? He washes his ...
