..." appeared on this album along with many more great tunes. This album was my first introduction to the Everly Brothers and i have never looked back. I have yet to find an artist(s) that i like better. In 1973 they parted and both persued solo careers.Before their split they relesed an album called " Take of the seventies" which included great covers such as "Lay Lady Lay" (Bob Dylan) & "The Air That I Breath" (The Hollies) In 1983 they got back together again for the first time in 10 years when they held their reunion concert. They released a new single "On The Wings Of A Nightingale" whith which they restarted their Duet career. Over the years i have been lucky to hear all angle of the Everlys music and if your a fan you will all ready appreciate their entire collection and if not you will only know the recordings that you would hear... Advantages: 21 brilliant songs, great lyrics
Disadvantages: a couple of weak links

...why we need two best ofs please.It has a distinctive 'Woodstock' sixties feel to it.It is also very strong lyrically, poetic and Dylanesque. A terrific song and with a lullaby like quality to it. 'The Queen And The Soldier (live)' is a live performance of one of Vega's most popular songs with fans. Again it is a monumental lyrical piece and is a poetic story put to words. A song of betrayal. 'Woman On The Tier(I'll See You Through)' I am afraid is what happens when experiments go too far, you can create a monster. This song is a monster ...monsterously bad. Words can not do it justice. Suzanne Vega's career has spanned three decades and she has progressed very much as an artist.Perhaps she has even turned full circle as an artist moving from folk rock through various experiments with the art of song writing... Advantages: five stars for the Scott Walker songs alone
Disadvantages: the rest of the album is forgettable, but Scott's songs are amazing

...came up with two. They took lead vocals on their own songs. These were the first self penned Walker songs since the 1960s. Scott had had a very successful solo career after the 1967 break up and his superb albums contained a great number of brilliant Scott songs. But a crisis of confidence had led to a string of uninspired covers albums in the early part of the 1970s. The four songs that John wrote are all competent MOR rock. Gary's two are ok too, with "The Death Of Romance" even being considered as the album's title at one point. But it is Scott Walker's tracks that make the album worth buying. If you never listen to the other tracks - I have, but only once - then Nite Flights is still well worth tracking down. In short, Scott's four songs are nothing like any song he'd ever written before and would set the template for most... Read review
