...Clannad's biggest talent is that they blend traditional Irishfolk music with a New Age style which is great, they have created their own style which is often described wierd, their hybrid is great and I love their music. I think they are one of the best folkgroups Ireland has and their music is great. Their most famous work is Robin, Hooded man, a theme tune which is dark and mystical, a great composition. Lifeline though is my favourite song because it combines Irishfolk with New age with rock to create one of the most interesting tracks I have ever heard...

Advantages: A great crossover album combining traditional Irish folk melodies with pop Disadvantages: Since this one, they have taken the pop road and their Irish folk roots are gone
..."Go on, leave me breathless", they sang recently. Well, they sure do! Three Irish sisters and one brother playing a mixture of Irishfolk music songs and traditional folk music tunes. I really like the way that they put it all together with a couple of songs followed by an instrumental interlude followed by more songs. The songs themselves all have that folk music feel to them. It's like they crossed over folk music and regular pop. Such a shame that after this album they left the folk influence behind and stuck to the pop stuff. Advantages: Contains songs that are rarely heard now Disadvantages: Couple of poor songs
...This is a good CD and one that any Orangeman will enjoy. This includes some classic Orange songs that you will be familiar with and others that you won't be. Which is always good to find new songs that you can sing along too. My favourite track has to be "The Union Cruiser" which is great and also menitions a lot of good loyal places in Ulster. Also in my favourites are the first track "On Boyne's Red Shore" which is enjoyable listening to the facts before going into the song. Also enjoyable songs are, Lurgan Town, Battle of Garvagh, Crimson Banner and the final track with the fife and drum is just excellent. This is one CD that any Orangeman or woman can buy and should have in their collection...
