...You can always tell a good album by the frequency that you play it. The Definitive Blues Brothers Collection, I keep in my car, ensuring that on my frequent long journey's I'll have something that nearly every passenger, no matter their musical tastes can sing along to and enjoy. Not only is it a definitive collection of classic blues as sung by Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi (as well as many of the greats and Legends of Blues, Soul and Mow town), it's also a definitive classic that will have you singing along to "Minnie the Moocher", tapping the steering wheel to "Jail house Rock" and bringing back fond memories of both great films. Disadvantages: None at all!

...If you are a fan of Madness, then this is something you must own!! It has every single every released which means you keep coming to songs that you didn't know and start loving them as much as the other hits you know! There are a few dodgy ones, and being definitive it does have strange things on it, like the Italian version of One Step Beyond!!! It is presented extremely well, with a very nice booklet outlining everything they had released until 1993 and the dates etc of those releases. A must buy!!!... Read review

Advantages: 38 songs on a double cd....WOW
Disadvantages: He is gone. Many pretenders follow.

...This year it would have been John Lennon's 65th Birthday. 25 years ago to the day I write this review, the world was robbed of a massive talent. Mark Chapman shot and killed John Lennon only hours after asking for his autograph. He claimed that voices in his head told him to do it, or at least that's what his solicitor told him to say. The man pleaded guilty and is due for release soon. The world will never see a talent like Lennon again. We should remember his music, the lyrics and the man that was John Lennon by just listening to the words he wrote. ----The music of a working class hero ----- To coincide with these anniversaries another record company has decided to cash in (sorry, let me re-phrase that), remember John Lennon by releasing another "greatest hits".
