...again with their latest album, Deliver Us. Following on from their previous release, Undoing Ruin, the band have matured even more in style. Most obviously in the form of lead singer John Henry's vocals. It's clear that the band wanted to experiment more with his voice, and this comes across in an occasionally cleaner style in addition to his old growling-scream, sometimes bordering on pure singing, but just staying short of it. Personally I welcome ... ...metalcore at times.
Overall, Deliver Us is a strong album from a band whose work has won them a legion of fans around the world. Fans of Darkest Hour's earliest work may take some persuading, but for the fans of Undoing Ruin and for people who just enjoy good metal music, this is highly recommended. ...
