However, in full awareness of what his audience wanted to see in this show, he kept the chatter to a minimum, and instead produced a powerhouse performance of some classic songs. The range of songs is quite wide. Elvis performs powerful versions of 'Burning Love' and 'Suspicious Minds', and standards such as 'Hound Dog' and 'Blue Suede Shoes'. There are also some wonderful cover versions, including Marty Robbins' 'You Gave Me A Mountain' (one of my favourite Elvis songs ever) and Hank Williams' 'I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry'. The sound quality on the CD is excellent, and is a fantastic reproduction of a seminal moment in popular music history. This is a recording that should find its way onto the shelf of all Elvis fans. ...The Forest Gump soundtrack is a collection of songs from the 50's 60's and 70's. Most of which are featured in the film. Timeless classics such as Hound Dog, Fortunate Son, Mrs Robinson, San Francisco and Break on Through are included in this great soundtrack which I am proud to own! Many of the songs conjure up visions of the film to mind. One that I find the most funny is when Forest is swivelling his hips to Hound Dog! Even if you haven't seen the film I would still recommend the Forest Gump soundtrack as a compilation of classic songs.... Read review

Disadvantages: a few weaker tracks in the middle, not released in the UK yet

...to watch out for. If you like Taylor Swift, you might also be interested in Miranda Lambert, who constantly being compared to her and is probably her biggest competition in that particular corner of the market being a young country singer-songwriter. It's hard for me to choose a favourite as Miranda is a lot rockier and probably has the better voice, but per CD there are fewer songs of hers I really love. I downloaded this CD for free through Limewire, but it can be found at Amazon for £18.49 or on iTunes for £7.99. For some reason the deluxe edition with DVD is cheaper at £17.99! There's no doubt that is really expensive for a CD, but as of yet it is only available in the UK as an import, so much as I like it, I'd stick to download for now!... Read review
